I personally don't like the whole "damsel in distress" thing that games, movies, stories, etc stuck with for so long. It gets old and teaches both young boys and girls the wrong idea. Samus Aran evened things out.

It's a shame that feminism perpetuates the exact ideals they oppose. I'm pretty certain absolutely nobody outside of the radical feminist community (feminists I know would think this is ridiculous) believes that patriarchy inherently causes rape. I'm no fan of patriarchy (or matriarchy or anything where one group is dominant over another), but this is extreme. Don't you think women would want to give themselves a little more credit for their choices, sexual and otherwise than to claim that someo…

I'm sure it's not absolute, but every study I'm aware of on sexual arousal has concluded this to be a biological and evolutionary truth (in humans). Please enlighten me if I'm wrong. edit: clarity

I am a woman. I am ashamed and saddened by this. Women are perpetrators of perversions and sex crimes as much as any other gender or lack of gendered person. I think this view has something to do with the porn industry. Men are obviously triggered by visual cues more than women are, so we don't often see what exactly getting women off because it's more internalized. Also, shaming and degradation occurs toward all genders by all genders within sexual context. Confirm/deny

As I female, I completely agree with you. If it were a bunch of girls watching men wrestle, it would have been "cute". If gyms are going to segregate by sex for whatever reason, there should be hours designated for both.

There are many, many varying doctrines of feminism, so I think it's going a bit far to say it's a "pillar of feminism". That being said, I had to actively convince (male and female) feminists that misandry exists when I posted about the subject in social networking. One guy in particular was in absolute denial that it was wrong or prevalent for females to hate men when it is most definitely both of those things. [PS- I think everything else you said is wonderful]

How is "female" derogatory? I've never heard that before. I always considered the term formal or scientific.

As a female that joined this subreddit so as to educate myself and actually practice equality, this is disappointing. I come here to study both sides of inequality and am finding more and more that the behavioral displays of male-female sexists and female-male sexists are often based on the same extremist behaviors. I understand that this is the Men's Rights symbol and there is nothing wrong with that, but as a public display on a t-shirt I find it just as preachy and off-putting as feminist sym…

It's a shame that men, even when they actually REALIZE that they're been assaulted, feel ashamed to report the incident. When someone actually gets a good hold on his balls and says something about it, other people ridicule him. Not right, not fair.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
