Legit woke up to this this morning and used it as motivation to work out on a weekend. Thanks! It's the little things in life.

The part about children separation though... The adults are the ones who broke the law, not the kids. Adults get detained with adults, kids are cared for as kids. Do you put the kids in jail with the adults? Or not enforce the law and not put the adults in jail? As it stands, now that there isn't +400% crossing the border each month, processing times at the border have smoothed.

As opposed to him making the decisions and her constantly saying "no" and "what about what I want?" Only way to win is to not play.

It's there supposed to be a difference between the choices? The end result is the same for all 4.

Population is starting to level off globally. Peak population estimated to peak by the middle of the next century.

I watched the video. Mostly guys who showed up. The girls who got filmed needed help digging. Maybe selection bias, but go figure.

The whole notion that individuals have rights is such a foreign concept in most non-US countries, legally speaking. The US Right is anchored to that belief. The US Left also used to believe in a version of that same believe, except it was on States Rights, which is equally just as enshrined in the Constitution. Now both kinds of rights are on the US "right" of the spectrum, and the US "left" is getting to the point of basically admitting McCarthy was right all along.

You seem to be insecure and short sighted based on your story. I would advise looking into growing away from both of those things. Anything law, consult an attorney. You may or may not need to pay a fee, but if something serious is on the line, don't play chicken.

Having used those other programs, I can say Word is far superior. In a corporate environment, if you're not using Office, you're homebrewing a work around.

My thoughts exactly. Those are some ludicrously large numbers. That's .1% of the US population dead on 6 months in 2016 if correct.

3rd wave feminism, yes. 1st wave was about suffrage. 2nd wave was a mix, but mostly about equality. 3rd wave is the inverse of the first wave.

John and Jane are intoxicated. John and Jane have sex. Jane cannot consent. John raped Jane. Just because they both opened the box doesn't mean one party (her) has the legal autonomy to consent. Under US states law, women lose their legal autonomy to consent to sex when intoxicated. Also: John and Jane have sex. 15 years later, Jane regrets this. John raped Jane.

Clueless guess here, but i would say no: if he paid his half, he should have been in the clear. I mean he would have a receipt to prove he paid his share. The other person would not have a receipt to prove they paid theirs. So, if he simply left without getting any sort of receipt, he's vulnerable/liable for his share of the meal unless he verified the other party(ies) covered his meal/drinks.

To summarize: active voice is preferred to passive voice. However, there is still a place for passive voice: It is not wrong to use passive, but it is clearer to use active.

/r/talesfromtechsupport New core program we use at work has a SQL database on the back end that gets used for literally everything we do. Since we moved to it, and the longer we've used it, the more data got added, the incrementally slower it has gotten in functioning. One of our really smart guys dug into the code and discovered the program was incredibly sloppily written when it did comparison queries of the database. Basically, if you wanted to compare data from multiple columns, it would tak…

Ironically, that came straight from the book. Tolkien wrote it that way. It's been too long since I read it to properly recall why, but I remember in the book it was a heroic thing with a ton of meaning behind it. The movie took that and turned it into "girl power!!!"

Dark ages weren't actually dark, a decent amount got done. It was because of the growth and stablization between the fall of Western Rome and the Renaissance that allowed the Renaissance to even happen. Common misconception. It's like when you don't see the stars when the sun is out. That said, Rome wasn't exactly pro science and free enterprise oriented after the fall of the Republic. After ~50BC, Rome started sowing the seeds of it's own decay.

And this is why VPNs are so useful. Edit: here's the summary for those who can't see video: Voice says what's basically in the title. Guy says to interviewer, "I was taking with a lawyer about something else regarding the situation and he found out I hadn't done a DNA test. He called me a stupid idiot and he was ordering one for me immediately."
