The study is talking about relationships in general, not just romantic relationships.

You're completely insane if you think every guy would lose his mind if he found out his wife had a one night stand when she was younger. That's you projecting because you're mentally weak. Do you even know what it means to "lose your mind"? These abstractions are absurd. So you've reduced all of mankind and womankind down to simple caricatures that represent the scenario most frightening and damaging to your fragile ego, and then convinced yourself that this is how real life works...so you are c…

Women LOVE romance. The problem is that socially clueless idiots think that romance means being a simp: clinging to them, sending them good morning and good night texts everyday... You can be romantic and not be a bitch.

Is the truth always a benefit? I'm serious. Many ancient cultures weren't concerned with the truth so much as with art and war. I think Nietzsche said that action requires illusion. And Dostoyevsky's work is littered with characters who are so obsessively rational that it destroys them. An obsession with truth can be maladaptive and life denying. Say you discover the ultimate truth about reality, and it's so horrifying that it destroys you, sends you into the deepest depression, spiralling towar…

Okay. But social science studies rarely produce what I would call confirmation.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/21 09:42 AM

That's true. Dostoyevsky said something similar in Notes from Underground. Pain produces pleasure because it gives you something to complain about, and people love complaining.

Can someone explain to me why guys on this sub love looking at data that they know will upset them/confirm what they already believe?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/21 12:27 AM

I actually read a study that said it's just one guy getting all the action now. It's his kingdom and we're all living in it.

If you BELIEVE in science, then you see it as a religion. And studies of human behaviour can't capture nuance. Just because the average couple can't maintain a great sex life doesn't mean all couples can't maintain a great sex life; that is false conclusion. Honestly it's astounding that people can make mistakes like these, especially on this sub where the men always claim to be so RaTiOnALtm.

No such thing as evil really. Morality is just personal preferences imposed on reality by the mind. Plus it's likely true that free will doesn't really exist, and if that's the case then all morality goes out the window anyway.

Magic is quite real but people have misconceptions about it. They think magic is about casting spells to warp physical reality; it isn't. From Alan Moore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1qACd0wHd0

Reminds me of the end of Albert Camu's 'The Plague' when it's said that the plague rats retreat, but it's very clear they will return someday.

Well if you're convinced that getting a girl is necessary for a good life (I doubt it) and that it's impossible for you to get one (also doubt it), seems like your only option is to expand your idea of what constitutes a good life. Now it's not easy to go against biological programming, but if the quality of your life depends on it, you must and can do it; human imagination is limitless and you can create a much richer life than simply doing what's expected of you buy evolution, history, and cul…

That's why that show isn't worth paying any attention to. Its low-brow fantastical escapism with inconsistent characters.

The husband in that show isn't really a typical beta but guy though, he's an extremely good looking investment banker. The problem is that he's obsessed with work and sports and doesn't bother to fuck his wife. There's also the face that they barely communicate with each other, which is hysterical considering the wife was studying for a PhD in psychology and should know the value of good communication in a relationship.

This is a black-pill post. Everything is awful and doomed. Nobody has happy relationships anymore. Covert misogyny with the 'women are oblivious and not empathetic' comment. I am one of few hIGh iQ bRoS who sees the truth. Obligatory larping: 'death will release us from this torment'. Boring, cliche, should be deleted.

"Our government is preparing for a future without work...People will work, or rather some people will work, but only for a decade of their lives. Women aren't supposed to be mentally strong. Men are. Did your father not raise you right? "Unfortunate biology", what pussy language. I pray to god you're removed from the gene pool, humanity doesn't need weak shit like that.

Dude every time someone gives you an example of why it's not hopeless you just come out with some negative bullshit. Your entire mentality is just self-defeating weakness. I think your problem is that you need to stop being such a massive pussy.

To be fair, women can't go after hot narcissists in their youth and then complain that men don't want to be vulnerable. Young men look to the men who are successful with women, and model themselves on that. If women like, hot, narcissistic etc., then men will model themselves on that. Women create the demand for toxic men. You might not like it, but it's true.

Stoicism is about using reason to process your emotions, not lock them away. I really wish people would read the texts so they know what they're talking about.

Construct your own reality inside your mind so you can fall back on it if your life doesn't turn out how you want. It's a very esoteric solution but it's doable. Psychedelics help.

I used to think like that. I was extremely depressed for about 4 years. Now I couldn't be happier and I try to counter bad information on this sub. It's probably a waste of time because you can't change people. Most have already made up their mind. For me music, mathematics, and literature make life worth living. Find what works for you. The most important thing: STOP THINKING. Or at least think differently. Something I realised a while ago: your experience is determined by your beliefs. Change …

You're depressed because you don't have an accurate view of reality: We're all doomed to suffering, in some way, like it or not. Stay single, you die alone. Get married, it might end in divorce. Have a happy marriage, kids etc., one day your partner will get sick and die, your kid could get sick and die... it all ends in tragedy, no matter what you choose. Women lead perfect lives? Many of them experience sexual harassment from the age of 10-12. Many are sexually assaulted. Many are murdered... …

This entire post is you cherry picking rare cases and generalising them into some outlandish story where any woman who is in decent shape is getting off with billionaires and pro athletes. None of this is based in reality. But if you want to prove otherwise, provide some evidence, not fantasies and anecdotes.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/21 02:43 PM

Men put in less effort and stop being exciting/creative once they’ve secured a mate. Also their testosterone decreases so they may end up less sexual. And finally women still end up doing most of the chores around the house. No wonder they get bored. Anyway I thought this was common knowledge.

Google Only fans statistics and you'll find multiple sources. I remember that OF had a Geni index (inequality measurement) that was higher than South Africa, and they have the highest geni score of any country on earth. The people making bank on OF are mainly celebs, porn stars, and professional businesswoman. Most make very little.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/21 08:33 PM

The average OF user makes $136 dollars a month. And the time it takes to take the pics, edit them, upload them etc, means most are actually losing money when all is considered. And you 'hearing lots of stories' is anecdotal, not data, not evidence. This is basic critical thinking.

One of the most hyperbolic and hilarious statements I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying a lot. To think that life is all about sex you have to be a brain dead porn addict.

Reminiscing about better times with a glint in your eye is a form of sadness not happiness. Believing your best times are behind you and the future is nothing but downhill is weak thinking. Better to be like Ulysses in Alfred lord Tennyson's poem. "To strive, to seek, to find, and NOT to yield!"

Humans have reason. It amazes me how people fail to understand this. Evo-biology/psychology is useful for explaining the behaviour of lesser mammals but they're not sufficient for explaining human behaviour. Human consciousness is far too complex to be reduced to nothing more than biological determinism .

It takes place in 1859 and it's about a gang of scalp hunters who are contracted to eradicate the apache native Americans around the Texas-Mexico border. They get paid for every scalp they bring back, but quickly go off the rails and start scalping peaceful tribes, Mexicans (who they're contracted to protect), and even members of their own gang. It describes extreme scenes of genocide, rape, necrophilia etc, and many consider it to be the bleakest, most violent book ever written. A lyrical epic …

Well you're absolutely right about men having an infinite proclivity for darkness. One only needs to read Blood Meridian, by Cormac McCarthy, to understand that.

Self-pity is coded into your DNA? My god you're pathetic. What a loser. So low agency. You deserve to be alone and miserable all your life if you're this pathetic.

Many RP guys don't understand the concept of an unfalsifiable hypothesis, which is basically what most (not all but most) of evolutionary psychology is. If you show them evidence that most women aren't slutting about as much as they think they'll say the women are lying. The game is rigged.

You think the average is getting bent over in the back of trucks with psychos? Maybe prostitutes do that but they have to, they're desperate enough because they need the money. Most sexual pain women experience comes from average men trying to recreate what they see in porn. Some of the fantasies that incels create in their heads about women's sex lives is equally astonishing, fascinating, and depressing.

Most of the sexually frustrated men on subs like these are self-hating and probably depressed. You can't argue with someone who hates themselves because on some level they believe they deserve their suffering. Possibly a negative side effect of our Christian past as fallen, wretched sinners? I don't know.

Though most men aren't rapists/murderers, fearing for your safety on a date is still rational considering most rapists/murderers aren't Hannibal Lecter types, they're ordinary, frustrated chumps. If rejection causes you trauma or...soul-destroying torture...you need to toughen up a bit, or seek therapy as you probably have trauma from something that happened LONG before. Maybe the only solution is to communicate and empathise with the experiences of the opposite sex, but in an alienated, narciss…

In most cases what people call love is actually limerence.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/21 12:53 PM

So are we completely omitting all the rape and excluding women from every aspect of society for 99.9% of human history? Strange concept of love. Men have limerence for women. Love is extremely rare.
