It's literally not his kid, tho ? He apparently did put his sperm in a neutral zone, that's why it's not his kid. No one who is having sex is 100% sure they didn't accidentally procreate unless there's something physically missing to give them that assurance... And sometimes even then (before anyone suggests a vasectomy) Why do you defend putting pressure on men in this way? For a kid that isn't theirs that they had no part in making? I know there's harm to the child, especially after a certain …

I'm confused as to why you're so intent on blaming a man for a woman lying to him ? Do you blame women for being cheated on, too? You've made other statements that I agree with (like if you're that much in doubt get a test) but then you need to shame men for being tricked ?? Just why? The needless cruelty undermines your other points, imo.

I think you may be confusing something like financial abortion with paternity fraud. Because I'm sure you're not saying that when a man has sex with a woman he's signing up for the risk that she's cheating on him and that he'll raise a kid that isn't his.

It's not about "going after" one "dad" or the other. She was just taking a moment to show some empathy for a kid for whom one "dad" is very likely not interchangeable for another. They're gonna be heartbroken and lose an important person in their life over something their parents (bio) did. That's sad. That's all. She feels sad for what's about to happen to the kid, that doesn't mean that a man should live a life that makes him miserable to prevent it. She even said so.

Edgy teenagers, I think ? 🤷🏼‍♀️ And it's possible that I give grown men on the internet the benefit of the doubt and assume they're teenagers sometimes, but I feel like it's teenagers, lol Either way it just comes off as someone trying too hard to be cool, imo. Pretty cringe.

If you have any scientific article about it and you are sure that we can trust it, please share it. I'm not the one who made a claim. I don't run around spouting nonsense like, "All people of X group prefer Y trait and if they say they don't they're lying". Because that would make me look foolish. The person who makes a claim, especially one as sweeping and absolute as yours, gets to back it up. Or admit that they can't, which luckily you already have.

Lol I went with rape because it was an accusation that is more often levied against men which can be hard to prove one way or the other and thus would be a good subject for exactly the same biased "Men lie thus we can just pretend the stats are what we say they are" bullshit you were pulling against women. Additionally, being falsely accused of rape is (understandably) something men tend to feel strongly about so I was also using a bit of an emotional angle to try and get you to fully engage wit…

That isn't what she said. She said introverts are less visible, which they are. Any introvert (self included) with even a tiny bit of self awareness will be able to admit this.

I mean, sometimes he just likes hanging out with me 😂 I don't go "clothes shopping" (irl) but I'm sure there's an equivalent that he does do. And really I was just trying to make a little "come with enthusiasm" joke in a post related to sex in relationships.

So because you've decided that it's impossible to study it's okay to just make things up and state them as fact? That isn't how things work. I don't get to say, "Men lie about how often they rape, there's no way to force them not to lie, thus the vast majority of men rape". That would be insane. Do you hear how insane that sounds? If you can't get good data making shit up is not the next best thing. Same with your new statement above. Back it all up or it's worthless.

Not “men have a right to women’s body” which is what the “should” you have a problem with sounds like. Again, OP had no argument with my take on what "should" means, and while I have definitely seen men take that whole "wives should" as some kind of ownership over her body I don't think that "should" necessarily implies that. A wife being a bad partner if she doesn't offer was more my take, which I clearly stated in the original comment that you apparently did not go back and read even though I …

but they’re getting manipulated by these guys. ...rrriiiight. The article you linked described all three dark triad traits as having something that overlapped. "Manipulative" So yes, the manipulative dark triad folks probably were out there manipulating people. Their families, their friends, their bosses and coworkers, and yes, even romantic partners. Men and women. It's kinda what they do. And yes, men can absolutely be manipulated by crazy and hot women 😂 like, what?? The hotness helps but som…

I mean yeah, that's essentially it for most people, right? When you're young and naive you think that if they're cute and funny and kinda nice (and of course you're already attracted to them anyway) then you're set! You have all the pieces, surely you'll both be reasonable people and mature similarly, etc But that isn't always how it goes. Some people get lucky, but a lot don't. I don't see where she said women are perfect or wonderful, she just said they aren't having this particular problem in her experience. Of course women are flawed, we're human. Even "good people" have flaws and act selfishly. And some women are even genuinely shitty, lots of women, even 😂 That doesn't mean that every scenario dreamed up in this subreddit is true or accurate or can be applied as a blanket generalization. Sexism is supposed to be baseless prejudice. Is it? I don't remember "baseless" being part of the definition. Do you think that women who view all men as manipulative and aggressive who then go on to exhibit "hostile sexism" towards men are not in fact sexist if they've had a sufficient number of bad encounters with men? Bad encounters can cause a person to become prejudiced against another group based on their immutable characteristics (sex, race, etc. things a person cannot change about themse…

That's essentially what demisexual means, that the attraction/desire isn't spontaneous, that it can take time and effort. I agree that most people are like this to some extent, women especially.

They self identify as blue pill to differentiate themselves from the red pill in a "pill" debate subreddit. "Blue pill" and "Red pill" come from the movie The Matrix, and just like in the movie, if you take the blue pill you remain the default. Nothing changes. Only by taking the red pill does something change from the default. Anyone who hasn't taken the red pill is simply a normal ass person in the real world (to bring the analogy back to our real world. You don't understand how one could try to promote a positive aspect of masculinity while disliking a toxic aspect at the same time? Is that the question? Do you want a woman who exhibits toxic femininity? (Catty, jealous, shallow) Or would you prefer one who can exhibit positive femininity (Loyal, reasonable, kind) and at the same time who doesn't show the toxic elements of femininity? If you prefer the positive but would skip the negative do you even like femininity? I would say that yes, you d…

To be "Blue pill" is simply the absence of believing in "Red Pill" ideals. That's it. "Blue pill" HAS no ideal or beliefs of its own, it's just, "Everyone who doesn't take the red pill". Saying someone is "Blue pill" is meaningless when it comes to identifying what that person actually thinks about gender, sex, or relationships beyond saying that the person doesn't subscribe to red pill beliefs.

Not every purity culture teaches the same things. The one I was raised in definitely was telling me from the time that I was a teenager that a woman's job was to keep her husband happy, and that "wifely duties" (said differently, but the same concept) were absolutely a thing if you want to be a good and godly wife. I'm sorry the church you went to tried to make you feel shitty about taking care of your sexual needs solo, that's fucked. I know a lot of people, men and women, who have had to unlea…

I think studies show that every generation 50% of men got weeded out Studies have in fact found that more women than men had offspring survive into adulthood and make a child of their own. Reproduction in the study I'm thinking of was defined this way, simply having a baby isn't enough to count as reproducing. As to why more women had offspring survive to have an offspring of their own, well, that seems obvious. Young men were often sent to die for their tribes/states/countries. To this day, the…

"Should" is where I have a problem. She has the option to, of course, and it would be nice, but "should" ? As in obligated? As in she's a bad partner if she doesn't? Nah. Same for him and going shopping if he doesn't want to, it's a missed opportunity to bond and spend time together, sure, but I'd rather wait til he can come with some enthusiasm 😉

The people giving the advice probably don't know enough to diagnose the issue that specifically. Usually the autistic person just reads as "off", maybe with a small handful of semi-specific markers (such as eye contact or speech patterns) but probably not enough clue in on neurodivergence. Add in some masking, and again, the person who is saying "personality" just doesn't have enough info to get more specific, so they reach for the easy answer. What child-free people do YOU know? 😂 They sound wild. My best friend is child-free, and my experience is quite different. She's a school teacher who is married for over 10 years. She supports her husband financially while he's finishing up his degree. She and her nerdy husband play d&d and video games (in fact that's how we met). I would hope this is something that's dying out as engaged fathers are becoming more and more of a thing But it's weird for both parents in an equal and healthy relationship when one parent is being praised for, say, changing a diaper or being willing to hold their kid for a few minutes while the other parent catches a break. Are they overestimating women's intellectual capacity or are they info dumping their special interest on a person whose own interest they took no time to gage? In the middle of a party, no less. I don't go dumping all my autistically acquired knowledge in the middle of a shindig, not because the other people are stupid, but because that isn't their special interest and to insist on a "deep conversation" about a topic the other party had no say or interest in would be rude and boorish. And that he's been shamed for it by this woman? Or are you saying he's taking past experiences out on this woman? You accuse her of flip flopping so surely you can point me to where SHE said the things you say, "Women often say" ? Because of course you're not leveling an accusation against her because of what other people have said. That would be ridiculous. That would be like me trolling through PPD making you answer for everything your fellow dudes have said, some of which is quite contradictory. It's a dumb way to have an argument. But that couldn't be what you're doing, so... Receipts ?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 03:41 PM

While I've seen some flip-flopping in my time in this subreddit it seems to me that the majority of these accusations are levied at a woman who says something contradictory to what a different woman said on a different thread in a different subreddit in a different context and is accused none the less of changing her own tune (or the tune of "women" as if we're a giant blob) Similar to what you've just done, for instance. I don't believe the other commenter was advocating for no PIV sex, but compromise is often possible. For instance, sex and then a BJ for you (since you didn't get to cum from the PIV) and sex and then head or a vibrator for the woman from the other comment (since she didn't get to cum from the PIV) Mutual enjoyment should be the goal. Sometimes that's both people getting off at the same time, but sometimes it's one at a time, and that can be fun/hot too.

Yeah? Is that the truth? Women don't leave relationships for any reason besides boredom? Women will put up with anything else, no self respect at all, only entertainment needs? Or was that just a fun little put-down that felt good in the moment but falls apart at the first second of actual thought? My vote is with the latter. "Truth" would have added value to the conversation, ironically the only value you added was entertainment.

Right, because it's a fantasy. Fantasy happens in the mind, where everything happens exactly as one pictures it and one doesn't have to trust another human being to correctly interpret that fantasy or to be a good enough person to want to interpret your fantasy correctly, or at bare minimum in ways that aren't harmful. The fantasy has zero real life risks or consequences. It's entirely safe. It's a completely different ballgame than real life and being at the mercy of someone bigger and stronger…

That's only one way to split chores. As long as the couple is looking at what the chore divide is and making sure it's equitable time/energy/suck wise 🤷🏼‍♀️ A lot of those outdoor chores get hired out, these days, though I still see the whole fam doing yardwork together, too. It's men that are complaining about loneliness and a lack of care/kindness in their lives. It sounds like there's a need that a lot of men have that a lot of other men are capable of filling, just as women are well known for doing for each other, but apparently men aren't doing that? Oh absolutely! I definitely think our society failed a lot of people and has made cycles of abuse harder to break and easier to fall into. You know, not all women are looking for a relationship at all times. Sometimes we are happily single, freshly out of a relationship, freshly out of a bad relationship, or even in a relationship with a different person. Some women are even lesbians And attractive men can still be creepy, arrogant, aggressive, and rather a jerk, even when their timing is appropriate, which again, is not always the case. Hope that cleared some stuff up for you 💜
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 12:35 AM

Bro I was using my marriage as an example to simplify a concept you seem to be struggling with. My relationship doesn't need to be real. You have to be able to acknowledge that relationships of 20+ years DO in fact exist. You cannot possibly be dense enough to not be able to grasp that fact. 20 years is a long time. It is a long-term, sword or no sword. You can't stomp your feet and make 20 yrs no longer count as long-term just because you said so. But if you still can't understand that words re…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 12:26 AM

Words don't lose their meaning just because you want them to. It's long-term if it's been a long time. We can quibble over what constitutes a "long time", but the fact that all things end doesn't mean nothing ever exists.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 08:48 PM

I'm gonna guess you hang out in male centered places and she hangs out in female centered spaces, which is to say: You're both probably right. Some members of each sex let themselves go in various ways after they've locked down a partner. Y'all are both more likely to hear the stories from your own sex which gives each of you the impression that the "other" does it more often.

you know yourself that most women gaslight men with "only personality matters", to keep a "moral high ground", why are you trying to twist it? What I know is that often women try to have conversations that involve nuance, variety, a hierarchy of wants/needs, the changing wants and needs that come with maturity and growth, and some men want to insist that looks is all that matters, and then when women say, "Nuh uh there are tons of factors" those same men hear, "Looks don't matter AT ALL". I wasn't even talking about penis size, but preferring something doesn't tell us anything about how important that preference actual is. Ask a bunch of dudes about their visual preferences and they'd probably be pretty unattainable for the average woman, especially where, say, breast size comes into play. That doesn't mean those dudes aren't perfectly happy with their normal looking girlfriends tho. It's just an ideal preference in a "perfect" world. The question asked was completely detached fr…

I just don't get offended if men ask to come. That's all. That's a good point. I wonder if the women friends are butthurt about being turned down and that's why it's a problem that they ask? Because you're right, I see no problem in asking as long as "No, we wanna do a guy thing" is an acceptable answer.

Genuinely, if a woman in your life isn't caring about your emotional well-being, you do not need that woman in your life. There are many, many women who love men as people. Don't settle for less, my dude. But you're also correct that men need to be able to be vulnerable with other men. I've seen my husband's friend group really make an effort recently to be more emotionally available and open with each other and they all seem happier and closer. It's beautiful.

I agree with 90% of your points, but I disagree that it's intentional. I think it's women not leaving their own personal bubble and really sitting with the realities of that generational emotional stunting and thinking with empathy. Which I'm not "defending" but I would like to try and explain. I also think that your opinion that it's intentional is you not leaving your bubble to understand that many women have been doing the work, desperately trying to give their male friends/partners/fathers e…

I totally understand wanting a "guys trip", just like I totally understand wanting a "girls trip" and an "everybody trip". Different people change the vibe, even on an individual level, so I completely get a whole other gender throwing off the vibe as well. They established a dude thing, they are well within their rights to protect it if that's important to them. The women can go on their own trip if they want. As long as all the dudes are wholesome I don't understand the problem. There's stuff …

As a woman, I'm gonna have to say I agree with you, there. For both men and women you have people who uphold unhelpful gender roles/expectations for two main reasons, imo: The people who these roles actively benefit, for whom those rigid roles offer some cover or comfort (this can absolutely include women, especially white and wealthy) And the dupes, who uphold gender roles because they think for whatever reason it's "right" and thus also "safe", be that nature, or morality, or whatever. So no, I don't think he is saying it's okay to tell men to "man up", but some women may not be attracted to an emotional man (I would call that woman shallow and immature, but that's beside the point) It's not okay to call a man a loser if he loses his job or isn't a provider, but …

Women normally expect a marriage, will a prenup scare them away (they don't have the chance to save up a few grand in a private account, hand me divorce papers, and take my car, house, and belongings)? Some women will accept a prenup, others will find it offensive, some will have valid reasons for either reaction, some will have selfish reasons. If a prenup is important to you then find a woman who accepts it. Each person keeping the assets they brought in is usually no biggie, and y'all can dec…

Hey man, I've been married for almost 17 years and have married friends who have all been married 10+ years so let me take a whack at this: Is the relationship automatically over if you lose respect? Lose some respect over an issue that isn't fundimentally important? Nah, that's fine, it happens. I'm sure I've done things that have caused my husband to lose some respect for me, too, but because neither of us has hit on something fundimentally important, and because there are so many other areas …

Marriage offers many protections and rights for the spouse. From the right to visit your spouse in the hospital (non-family is often barred during emergencies) To children and the desire to have those children united under one protected legal unit To things like wills and funeral arrangements, where a partner without legal status would be at the whim of the blood relatives without careful proper planning (and even then blood relatives have quite an upper hand) Beyond being a declaration of inten…

Adding on: "Believe women" doesn't mean to lock men up without trial. It means treat the accuser as if they aren't lying or being hysterical and let the police/justice system investigate. "Believe women" became a thing because dismissing women out of hand without an investigation has been an ongoing problem. Women just wanted their abuse and rape treated with the same dignity, respect, and investigation as any other crime.

So how do you explain the powerful women that have existed in history before feminism? The majority of the women you listed got their power by being the only available person in their family line... There not being so much as a 3 week old male baby in the family line somewhere is how I explain adult women getting power. It's that of the women studied, the women who self-reported having high levels of intrasexual competitiveness recommended that "rivals" cut off less than a centimeter of extra hair? Why do you need a study for every little detail of life? Because this is a debate subreddit, it's in the name. Debates tend to rely on the best data available to inform them. That does not mean this person needs a study for every little detail of their life, just for this debate. Can you not go off of common sense and anecdotal experiences What is "common sense" to you may be absolute foolishness to me, and the plural of anecdote is not "evidence". Some of the most autistic screwed up people I k…

Oh that framing is my own, lol, don't blame him. I'm just putting stories and things he's said about himself together to paint a picture. But as far as practicing what we preach, we were both coming out of religion by the time we had sex. We weren't ready to take Pascal's Wager yet and say we didn't believe, but religion was no longer a factor in either of our decision making or values at that point, and there was definitely no preaching. I agree that there's far too much shame and belittlement …

Have you ever given much thought to how patriarchy intersects with the trauma of boyhood, and how these roles that men are being locked into are eerily similar to the ones patriarchy forces on women? Oh absolutely! The patriarchy and dehumanizing ideals of how men "should be" fucks up otherwise perfectly awesome dudes and makes them hate and doubt themselves, and when women buy into those ideals as well they double down on the pain men experience. Pretty much every dude I know has had to unlearn…

She isn't talking about debating abortion, she's talking about the decision a couple might have to make together. If one person is pregnant and does not wish to be and wants an abortion, and the other person is morally opposed to an abortion and would view that as the murder of his child then they are at quite the impasse. Better to be with someone who respects your bodily autonomy for one person, and for the other better to be with someone who values a fetus to the same extent they do. She's sp…

This is all women? Most women? A woman you heard about once? Because I've certainly had bad dreams I had to process, but I've never taken them as reality. I'd say most people, men and women, are able to process their bad dreams simply as they are without extrapolating anything from them into reality. The study about domestic violence included domestic and sexual violence committed by a previous partner, which could (and sometimes did) include former partners who were male. Also if memory serves it didn't even have to be a previous partner who did the violence, just that the person answering the survey had experienced sexual violence ever would be enough. So, more women than men have experienced domestic and sexual violence, that's what the study shows. Which isn't exactly ground breaking.

More men than women are autistic (3:1-2:1), so it's easier for women to find a male partner with the same trait Until fairly recently it was believed by the medical community that only boys could be autistic. Why can't it be some of both? Something like this: Women are forced to learn to mask at a higher rate and younger age. This is a necessity in order to move through the world safely (without constant harassment). This is both good and bad as it takes a toll on their mental health, it makes them have to re-learn who they even are, it makes it hard to find authentic friends and romantic partners because it's both hard to drop the mask and almost impossible to know when that's safe/appropriate. I am 38. Trans men absolutely date "normal" women, and even cis women. I have seen this by observing it in the real world.

I was doing crazy stuff pre-22, sex in parks, sex in a u-haul, lmao, road head... But yeah, by 22-23 I was telling the guy I was with (who was asking to do that kind of stuff) that I wasn't in that phase of my life anymore. That it has been fun and exciting and new when I was younger but now all I can think about is the handful of times I got caught and at 22 I felt too grown and responsible to be doing that shit and taking those risks. Now, was the guy I was with disappointed? Sure ... But sinc…

Have you ever sought out a video from women explaining this phenomenon to hear it in their own words and explaining their own agenda? If not, you should. Imo, the explanations from women who do this in their own words also explains a lot.

Re-read the comment. Catch the use of the word "only". Many women like some amount of emotional whatever. That doesn't mean that's ALL they enjoy about sex, however. Having a higher need for an emotional connection of some kind makes sense to me though, women have a higher need for physical safety and a higher risk of getting pregnant. And I know I for one feel safer with men that I do know than with men that I don't. In fact, the more I know they care for me the safer I feel. It makes sense tha…

Are these quotes from the commenter herself or thin air? I don't see the commenter making those claims, I only saw her say that a relationship has to be worth losing the peace of not being in a relationship for a woman to choose it. I saw no list regarding what that means to this particular woman or women in general, and no mention of "not a real man" or "being intimidated by her". Was there a second conversation that I missed?

There isn't a perfect answer to this question, but expanding ones social circles means expanding ones dating pool. Even if you don't date your friends maybe they know someone you'd get along with. So the more people you know, the more people who might have someone they can introduce you to. The more open and honest you can be with your friends the better job they can do recommending someone, plus of course having support and love and openness from your friends is important in it's own right. This takes many forms, for some it's social interaction/attention in revolving around a hobby, club, sport, etc, .. this is just normal, boring, human interaction shit. Social media made it easier to connect, but it's all just social animals being social. (YMMV, some animals are not very social and that is okay too. I don't like being judged for my anti-social tenden…

They think women should be primarily speaking to other women because if a man is nearby we might accidentally get "tingles", or many enjoy the company (ahem, I'm sorry, attention) of someone with a penis who isn't our partner, and that's the same as cheating, right? ... I wish I was joking or exaggerating. The insecurities run rampant here.

Would you be willing to give up porn for a woman who respects your "sane male boundaries"?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/24 07:16 AM

but fucking Chads who won't commit to you doesn't give unrealistic standards Why do you assume all women who are anti-porn are pro-casual sex? There are at LEAST 2 different hive minds we can subscribe to, why assume you're addressing the same Mind at all times?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/24 07:14 AM

According to your logic, is it fair to expect women to not get upset when their partner does such things with them? People DO do this, safely, consensually, with much, much communication before, during and after. It's a roleplay, a fantasy, it feels dangerous, but you've both discussed what's going to happen and the "active" partner is careful and considerate. No one is upset after because they both wanted to play. I say this because what YOU are describing, without consent, without communicatio…

I'm sorry... This woman you're replying to has a track record of the above? You found this in her comment history? What does "Being boss bitches" or "Having male friends" have to do with the porn habits of men? I'm confused. Kinda sounds like you're projecting all the "sins" of both the men and women of the last 50 yrs onto just women, actually, just THIS woman... What exactly does the ability to throw a specific ball for a specific sport have to do with the ability to understand how politics affects one's life and vote in ones best interests? Is being good at baseball or other physical activity a requirement for men to be able to understand how the world works as well? Or just women? If your comment is any indication of the average male brain then it'd be the perfect example of why men shouldn't be allowed to vote, and at least my sexist and narrow opini…

🤷🏼‍♀️ How you choose to perceive your journey through life is your business. Some people don't meet their person til they're both middle age and they just accept that as the path in life they needed to take to get to their person. But saying that you are a feminist means that you you identify with the same people that brought you #freethenipple #metoo #believeallwomen #killallmen. That's what I'm saying though, is that no, I don't have to embrace EVERY idea that ever came out of any group of women who called themselves "feminist". It's the classic cult-ish tactic of having perfectly good and sensible advice to lure people in before they reveal the deeper crazy. Its frustrating. I love the concept of "frame"! As you said, it probably depends on who is asking, but also that's an incredibly small cross section of the male population, and at an age/stage/location where casual hookups are not entirely uncommon. I'd like to think that my married friends, for instance, wouldn't have any trouble "keeping it in their pants", or any man with sense regarding a woman who treats him badly, for instance.

I can see where you'd get the perception that a woman who proclaims herself a feminist must fringe, a lot of groups get that perception, atheists, men's rights supporters, etc. But I find that in all of those groups there are also perfectly normal people who want to be able to use a term that is shorthand for their beliefs/worldview/values/what-have-you and not allow society and fringe crazies to take that label away from them. It might be a worse feeling on the part of the ignored person, but the subject at hand is "withholding" and the blame that comes with that word. So while indifference may feel worse to the person being ignored, the person doing the ignoring still isn't being active in creating this feeling in the other person, they're just existing while being desired. The implication is that some men put women on a pedestal or treat women like a puzzle instead of just a regular human. It's not that those men are mistreating anyone at all, they just aren't interacting authentically because of their misperceptions of women and probably a decent amount of insecurity in themselves. I'm sorry, but submission felt like a relief to you. Not all, or even most, women will feel "relief", first of all, and submitting to the wrong person is downright dangerous. Submission also means different things to different people, there are different degrees, and entire categories of ones life that one may never choose to turn over. Be careful advocating submission in a room full of people who have zero concept of what a healthy power exchange looks like. This is how abusive relationships ge…

And in fact yes, you do have to be sexist to be dominating or provide, because the balance is that the woman has to be submissive and caretaking This is absolutely hilarious... Tell me you know nothing about dominance or submission without telling me 😂 the BDSM community is rolling in laughter at comments like this... Actually no they are not, they're pretty upset that BSDM terms are being used to promote gender roles and sexism. Bring dominant doesn't make you more than and being submissive doe…

Dude you're watching immature people have relationships and learning all the wrong lessons from it. Let's give you the full benefit of the doubt and say you're accurately reporting how your friend's girlfriends treat them, okay, cool... Your friends aren't in good relationships, then. It happens. They're young, they're learning what boundaries are reasonable and what healthy relationships look like, and sometimes people make mistakes along the way (by being an asshole and/or by tolerating asshol…

Exactly, it's a balancing act and everyone gets to pick what tips the scales for them. Go find your fit, dude, don't worry about what women who are not your fit would pick. I'm sure there's a woman out there who will both value your physical appearance and the work you put into it and also not be a completely shallow person. Unironically. People have different hobbies and shit, some hobbies come with hot bods, and some people like hot bods on themselves and their partner 🤷🏼‍♀️ nothing about that…

I don't know how much self awareness is needed to know that being around someone with volatile emotions is unpredictable and scary and being around someone who regulates their emotions is more predictable and feels safe. I didn't set up tests for him or anything, I just noticed times when I expected him to blow up because it's what my dad or my brothers would have done, and he didn't, and I felt how relieved that made me, especially when the explosion just kept not coming. I'm really happy to hear that your relationship with joy isn't because of trauma! I apologize, my comment must have come across as assuming. I was just excited to tell someone who apparently has an interest in that topic where I'd personally seen someone not be able to experience joy and why, and didn't give a second thought that there might be an implication that you were the same. No matter how you experience it, I hope your life has lots of joy 😊

Regarding suppression of joy, that's actually something my husband has struggled with. His narcissistic mother essentially punished him for his joy and hated the things he took joy in (because she hated HIM and it showed in every choice she made). Personal anecdote time: My dad bottled his emotions til they overflowed into anger, yelling, insults, and minor violence. Being in despair, being sad, being frustrated abd being angry are all normal responses to failure. Absolutely! And people have a right to be sad and down, but those failures and bad feelings can take a toll on one's mental health and outlook. A therapist can both let them vent their hurt feelings in a safe environment and also possibly unpack and fix some root problems that may have been holding them back. For instance past trauma from family or other childhood trauma can really fuck a person up…

You are absolutely right about entire industries being built around making women insecure about their looks to sell them a product. Men, if y'all wanna know why women are so protective of other women's self image, go look at what the millennial women dealt with in the early 2000's when we were hitting teenagerdom and early adulthood... I'm not sure why your answer to me trying to give you some hope that good people still exist and are out there for you to find was a rant about feminism, lol. I think some people just need time to grow into themselves, some women included. I know my husband and I would both have benefitted from some time in our adulthood on our own, learning who we are as people, before getting in a relationship. I increasingly see women complain about non-consentual choking and slapping becoming a problem during sex. They attribute this to porn-brain, and I'm not sure I can disagree. So that's what women mean when they say that. Just fyi. It's something they're experiencing and then trying to find a reason for, not something they're having made up nightmares over because porn exists.

Not everyone is receptive to learning, some men have fragile egos, especially around sex. I get not wanting to put up with an extra hurdle. I also understand wanting someone who has relationship experience, even if the relationship didn't end up working out. I think it's because when women see they've made a mistake they try to pass advice on so someone else can avoid the mistake. Older women give younger women advice on all KINDS of stuff, not just things related to men. Moreover, we have the term "femcels", but in theory, "incel" should apply to both males and females, yet you choose to apply to males only - as the majority does - following the herd. This is funny to me, (because the way words shift is funny sometimes) because "Incel" was coined by a woman about herself. She created a support group for other incels, men took over the group, essentially bullied the women out of it, telling the women that if they won't fuck random incel dudes in the support group…

I don't think so, my best friend just went through an illuminating experience with friend groups. One group we'd been friends with for 6+ years but she and I never felt connected to, despite our spouses fitting in fine with the rest of the group. Then my husband and I moved away and she was pretty lonely, "alone" in that group of people. Que her finding a new group of people who she DOES vibe with, and now her loneliness is gone. Not all people mesh with all other people, is my point. And that d…

I don't see why it couldn't work on a gay man, why wouldn't it? I'd bet redpill doesn't work on lesbians, either. It's not gonna work on people who would never be interested in your sex to begin with, but beyond that I don't see why it wouldn't work on men, too.

Good news! she may rate the average guy as "below average"... But she'll message him and give him a chance anyway. No need to continue gaslighting yourself over a single data set from over 10 years ago from a single dating website (OkCupid) that shows, not the trend of how women in general choose who to respond to ... But simply the members of Okcupid at that time. And even then it wasn't as bad as you thought. Enjoy that sigh of relief, bud!

Not having sex is a strictly male issue. The person who invented the word "Incel", and the support group around it, created that word to describe herself. Not having sex is a mixed gendered issue. Men are such a hive mind, they're pretty much all the same. This comment was just more gaslighting trying to convince me all men are special snowflakes. Sad. Guess we shouldn't have given women the right to vote then Ah, yes, the classic example of male rights vs female rights. The right of women to have a say in the very laws that govern you, vs ... The right of men to have access to women who are not interested in them. Such an equal thing to demand and fight for. Such an equal compromise. How about this, we keep OUR right to vote, you keep YOUR right to vote. We keep our right to choose who we tie our lives to, you keep yours. Equality. Hurray.

Different people have different preferences and standards for their relationships 🤷🏼‍♀️ Different people put different weight on sex. Different people put different weight on sex depending on their current life phase, or current relationship. Some people desire monogamy, others don't. Cheating is essentially promising you won't have sex with someone else and then doing it anyway. This is why open marriages can exist without the partners constantly "cheating" on each other. The broken promise, the lie, is what's wrong.

Not who you asked, but alimony is financial protection/blow softening for a spouse who took time from their career/education to support the family. If you want women to stay home you should be supporting their safetynet (alimony) should they end up divorced and financially set back from the lifestyle you asked them to agree to. If ya don't want alimony ya better let your spouse work. Personally I think alimony will always and should always be around to some extent, because stay at home parents e…

The Pareto principle is a known phenomenon, yes. I'm not disputing that if that's what you're asking. But the 80/20 rule as is often touted in male dating circles is one blog post from the guy who owned Okcupid, which is not exactly a good sample of women (or people) in general, just OkCupid users ... And it said that men rate more evenly, but go for the higher rated women. Women rate looks more brutally, but will message guys they rated as lower ranking in looks. But don't take my word for it.

I do not think it's "being a supportive friend" that's preventing men from getting in a healthy relationship. Proving you're capable of being a supportive friend is in fact a positive for anyone worth being in a LTR with. If you're getting rejected for proving you know how to be supportive then the trash is taking itself out.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/23 02:24 PM

If you have a friend who uses you to dump their frustrations at the world and doesn't reciprocate then that is not your friend. That is a shitty person. Chad and anyone else your "friend" has sex with has nothing to do with anything. Your shitty friend could be a perfect sexless virgin, but if they're dumping their emotional problems on you and not supporting you with yours they'd be just as shitty of a friend/person.

I think you're missing context here, a bangmaid or human fleshlight is going to have a different experience than a fully equal partner whose pleasure is equally prioritized. Jesus, no accounting for the difference in harm between those two scenarios 😂 Not that I'm pro-being someone's affair partner, but I definitely think the person who made vows is MORE in the wrong, they have hurt a person they promised not to hurt, the affair partner may have been told placating lies about the spouse, think the married person has 1 foot out the door anyway, etc, and the affair partner hasn't made any promises on top of that.

I think what you're seeing is men complaining about an issue, gesturing broadly at society being "the problem", and then saying "Society doesn't care, feminists and women don't care, no one cares to fix this." And feminists, deep in the work of tracking down WHAT societal issues cause problems we face, doing the research, doing the awareness campaigns, doing the writing of legislation, lobbying people in power, etc... are unsure of how to hear this other than, "You have a nice things, I want a n…

So someone who gave up their career to be a stay at home parent and take care of their kids and family should automatically lose custody of their kids in a divorce? You must really hate stay at home parents. ... Or is it JUST the moms who should lose custody for what was likely a joint parental decision? Why would anyone agree to take what is already a hit to their financial security, their entire career trajectory, if it means they also lose their kids in a divorce?? You're basically saying the…

I've done emotional labor for my guy friends and my women friends. My women friends are faaaaar more likely to reciprocate (other than my husband, he's a good dude). But either way it is definitely mental energy and time expended. My women friends will often ask if I have the energy, and I do the same for them. Because they understand that it's labor without me having to point it out. On the other hand I've had to distance myself from some guy friends because talking to them was constant emotion…

I think you're misunderstanding what "caring" looks like, and a specific group vs an individual. I'm a feminist, I support women's rights and equality. I'm also a human who loves the men around me, my friends and family. If there's a pro-women's mental health bill, sure, as a feminist, I'd support that. I'd wish it was more inclusive, but I understand that sometimes a narrow thing is easier to tackle. If there's a pro-men's mental health bill, I'm not going to support that as a feminist, I'm goi…

I don't know jack about the UK or Mexican football culture, but I wonder if there's a reason those women have begun identifying football players and enthusiasts as sexist. Maybe some personal experiences they've had. Sure, they're probably generalizing and mislabeling an amount of dudes, I'm just saying I'm sure that didn't get started out of nowhere in a vacuum. Perhaps the fandom needs to look at itself and figure out if they're giving off vibes they don't actually agree with or allowing the w…

Apparently it's also what men do, you just said it yourself. You're "no true Scotsman-ing" away something men do that you don't like and attributing it to women, even though men are the ones doing the thing in this case. Where the fuck is the logic there?

Women are sometimes put on a pedestal by some people, but that is not the same as respect.

Man, if my husband ever listened to you and stopped sharing his lows and his worries with me that would really suck. Couples bond over helping each other emotionally and being there for each other, couples are stronger when they can lean on each other and trust the other will catch them til they're on their feet again. Him being open with his emotions and struggles is a great part of who he is. I would worry about our relationship if he stopped being that way, and he would have to deal with his …

You must swim in different circles than I do, I've seen men in friend groups, work, etc be treated like a human when making a mistake (sometimes a BIG mistake, that hurt another person) and given time space and grace to grow and learn from it. Time and time again sometimes, by both men and women. I'm not going to say there aren't judgemental assholes out there, but I've seen that go both ways. I've seen women treated as stupid or malicious for a misunderstanding as well. I just don't think it's …
