The most he can hope to get from her is an accurate assessment of his appeal to her. If it's all laughable horsecrap, he can laugh the whole thing off including the rejection. If it's problem areas he didn't know he had, he'll be better off knowing. At the very least, he'll feel she brought him up to her level by being honest with him. Everything feels useless because she didn't like it enough to stay. It doesn't matter how it comes off. Be true in your eyes.
