Here in mexico, families from the 20th century were all married in most cases, and what's the average age in which these people got married? 15-20 years old, just tell me, where's the maturity in being married when you're barely legal? You're a dumb romantic kid who's lusting after the most romantic and novelistic view of marriage because, yes, you're young and dumb enough to think marriage is the epitome of responsibility a d self consciousness. No, marriage is not the obvious outcome of a resp…

Hello, in mexico being married is or had been the norm...as it's not successful by any means. My mom's generation basically got all their individuals married and formed a household...on the paper, but in the practice you'd still find the same absent and irresponsible fathers as you could find on the baby mama culture with the difference at least the mom doesn't have to stand that level of childish behavior from her man.

Ummm I don't know? Because the third person needs your attention, your time and your constant protection?a child is strictly an extension of your own biological structure! Also a vulnerable being that needs to be taken care of. Why would someone be more committed to sign a contract that was historically created to protect the powerful and their wealth that had no interest for poor people or the working class at all? Why is for many black women nowadays so important to display this pick me behavi…

There's a big difference between having your husband to be a present father...and having a hairy furniture in your living room which turns into a machine that works from 9-5. It's very naive, or in the case of men absurdly self-indulgence, to assume all men that are married are a showcase of excellence in parenthood , responsibility and unconditional love for their children. You're comparing two types of responsibility that not always align: being a father and being a husband, being married does…

Whenever I read statements like this one...incant help but thinking that this is all because men miss submissive and obedient women. In your head you already gave answer to yourself "they don't get married because they don't want to obey and behave properly from my mysoginist point of view". People are not getting married because they don't simply want to get married, period. History has taught generations about the failure in romantic views towards marriage, it takes more than a will to be with…

Latin American person here, cause I hate the "Latino" term. In my country most of the families are product of marriage, and I'm afraid I don't see that "marker of social class" most marriages were originated by social pressure, the urgency to cover up an unwanted pregnancy and sometimes (like my grandma's case) she had to get married because it was either tolerating a whole life ahead with my grandpa or stepping into the unknown since she was left behind by both her relatives and the people she …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
