Suggestions on how to handle some ambiguity in my divorce decreeI’m scared to do that because 1. I’ve gotten two consultations and both said it would be expensive and it’s a slim chance I was also told that since we agreed without going to trial on the terms, it will reset everything and she can get even more or possibly still get life alimony | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/05/25 01:41 AM
Suggestions on how to handle some ambiguity in my divorce decreeNo there was not. I definitely feel my lawyer did not do his job well. He told me I got a great deal. It felt like it at the time because the pushed for lifetime alimony and it we got it down to six years. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/05/25 12:11 AM

Super depressed about moneyI wish I talked to you when my divorce was happening. I was so scared that she was going to get lifetime support. She pushed for it and played the mental abuse card. Hey OP! 10 years sounds like a lot. I was married 22 years and am only paying for 6 years. 3 years and 5 months to go! It gets better. I am broke but also so happy. I have met an amazing woman who loves me and cares about me. You will get there. Just work on you. It is going to be ok. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/03/25 03:57 PM

My ex wife is proud of edge she did I’m about 40k in debt She got close to $1 million (once alimony is done) Happiness can be expensive. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/03/25 08:09 PM |
Tell Me It Gets Better Afterwards? It’s like they have a playbook, the same thing is going to happen. Hang in there, buddy. I’ll be pulling for you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/03/25 09:57 PM
Tell Me It Gets Better Afterwards?I went through this exact thing. I have screen shots of texts of her telling me she loves me and that we can work on this and we can do this together. Then within the same horse hour after me not responding that I am evil and she will make sure my kids hate me and know who I really am. You have to stay strong, I just put the phone on silent and ignored her. She made her bed, where was this apologetic behavior when she thought she wasn’t losing you. You got this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/03/25 08:15 PM
Tell Me It Gets Better Afterwards?I am in WA and my ex also has BPD I would make sure to get written into the decree that it is non modifiable. That will save you from her ever going back for alimony. Feel free to reach out if you need someone to talk to. My divorce was final 3 years ago. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/03/25 12:25 AM
Men who lost everything after divorce, how have you rebuilt your life from rock bottom ?Well. It took me about a year to get over the trauma. I got therapy. It helped a ton. I was really a wreck and she has done everything in her powers to make me miserable. I was actually diagnosed with PTSD. I am mostly over it now but I have my moments. I wrote a very long post about it (since deleted) and put it on Reddit. An amazing woman read it, reached out to me and we have been together ever since. My emotional side of things have never been better. I have never been happier. Financially i… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/03/25 12:16 AM
How the FuckYou sound like my situation. Married 22 years. I had to buy her a house and then give her a set amount monthly for 6 years. When the divorce was final there was a such a mess to clean up. She left our previous home a disaster which cost my tens of thousands to take clean up. When I went after her, I got the sob story of "let's be amicable" and "just please deal with because I am trying to start fresh and I am not doing well mentally" I let it go and paid it. I was doing really well in my job and… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/02/25 04:54 PM
