As you said, the problem with seeking external validation is that it will never be enough, because the validation we seek is immeasurable and we will never be satisfied. IMO these ‘influencers’ only goal is to build a cultish following in order to gain traction and market/sell content to these guys in order to benefit themselves. They don’t give a flying fk about the guys whose lives they are negatively impacting. Some of my close friends are beautiful (two used to model) but not the type to do that at all as they have self-respect.
