This is a very interesting solution. I said "No" in response to OP, but I could see this as being a reasonable compromise.

The number doesn't take into account population growth. The number is for all women over 16. It doesn't seem to consider school or retirement. The number as it is doesn't really tell us much.

Men are responsible for the violence they perpetrate as much as anyone else. If we flipped the genders of the attackers and accusers, I would hope we still hild the attackers responsible, even if they were women.

She lied about her "poor tough history", when it really boiled down to "21yo single mother hitches up to 38yo sugar daddy who pays for her law school, even cashing out his 401k to do it, then divorces him literally the day after the loan was paid off and leaving their mutual daughter in his full custody. Her wiki page says she graduated in 1993 and divorced in 2003. No sure how that matches up with what you are saying here.

Two weeks after leveling her initial charges, Riniker filed a follow-up petition accusing D of groping two teenage babysitters, taking off his clothes, rubbing his body on their legs and attempting to kiss them. According to court records, Riniker subsequently offered to drop the babysitter allegations—if the boy signed off on the initial petition. This is obviously coercive. Someone needs to find a way to prevent prosecutors from doing this.

I sought out the expert opinion of Dr. Miles Groth, a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Wagner College. In addition to being a practicing psychoanalyst in New York for thirty-five years, Dr. Groth is founding editor of New Male Studies: An International Journal, Psychoanalysis is not sound science. This really damages the credibility of what he says IMO. Does the mens rights movement really want to associate itself with pseudo-science?

I think Susan has no interest in the "Women in tech" groups, and in my opinion that should be okay. She just wants to hack. Everyone assumes that because she is a woman it is fair to conscript her for the gender battle.
/r/MensRights07/02/14 06:14 AM
6

One theme infind interesting is how the focus on gender in technology has degraded her experience in some respects. Over time she went from a hacker who also happened to be a woman to being defined first and foremost as a woman, with her work becoming secondary. When she speaks she must now speak as a woman, not a hacker. This seems to fly in the face of what is taught in introductory feminism classes. Intersectionality anyone? Her gender identification need not dominate the way she defines hers…

There is no "they", this is just one person. I think this is harmful "us vs them" language. Note: Using "they" to refer to one person is grammatically incorrect, so you can't claim you were referring to one person except out of ignorance of grammatical usage. Thus, the title is inaccurate.

/r/MensRights24/11/12 02:58 AM

No. There is a good book titled "on killing" that describes most humans aversion to harming others. The author studies soldiers and found, surprisingly, that thrown into a violent situation most solders would rather die than kill another. This lead to unusually low death rates from violence in past wars. Many wars were won with food or other factors. Recent training (especially since Vietnam) has increased soldiers willingness to kill, and with it increased PTSD. So it makes sense why someones i…

I don't agree. I have had friends who required a circumcision for medical reasons, namely that the foreskin was too tight and stretched and tore every time he tried to whip it out. While it isn't life threatening, I don't think someone should be forced to wait until they are 18 to fix a medical issue.

Anger is an emotion (obviously) and not a choice. We don't chose the emotions we feel, we never say "Oh, I am going to be happy right now.", focus really hard on being happy, and having it so. To judge an emotion, whether it be anger, happiness, sadness, frustration, is bad because we are judging someone for things that are beyond their control. It is the actions that we should care about instead. Thus, in my opinion it doesn't matter when you are angry if you can behave appropriately.
/r/MensRights13/04/11 04:10 PM

I don't see him dismissing depression anywhere. Although I have never suffered from depression, from what I hear his description is accurate. Depression is not sadness or pain, but a lack of feeling, a lack of energy. I just thought he was clearing up the confusion between depressed numbness and emotional pain. I saw it as him saying "It's okay to be angry." Which is along the lines of this subreddits message, that it's time for men to stop bottling their anger at their situation in, and instead…

Yeah, whenever I plan clever responses like that in my head, it never goes as planned.

I am voting you down because you are not promoting rational discourse, but a lynch mob mentality. Calm down and come back when you are capable of rational discourse.

Holy crap. 42% of women would lie about being on contraceptives to have a child? Linked to in the article...

I promise you that I will not pull punches, I will not preface what I’m saying with “some men” or “some black men” because all of you are guilty. I guess that puts the nail in the coffin right there huh? I guess I was wrong. Oh well.

In that quote she makes no reference to all men, let alone men in general. She could be referring to men like the ones who left the comment on Facebook. At this point, if she is guilty of something, it is lack of clarity in her writing.
/r/MensRights12/09/09 06:32 PM

Nowhere in that post does it say "Men are worthless animals", she even goes on to say near the end that she has men in her life that she thinks are virtuous. (By her standards)

Contrary to what you might think, women are not another species. They can be so different it sometimes seems like women are another species though, doesn't it?

Around 2006 I think. There is a written article of the same report here http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/Story?id=2741047&page=1 EDIT: It also has the video.

Unless the man is trained on how to take down the woman without causing any damage How is a person trained to do that?

Obsession? This is the "MensRights" subreddit, so it will have multiple false rape report articles obviously. False rape reports are relevant to men. You make it sound like it is the same men sitting at their computers posting hateful messages about women day after day. Personally I come here every so often, and wouldn't be surprised if other people browsing this subreddit are the same way. It is also why you might see the same kind of articles pop up.

I don't see any point in arguing with such bigots. They have personal issues that prevent them from seeing things clearly.

Yeah. I didn't wanna insult your wife or anything. I think everyone can do these sorts of things unconsciously; without knowing. I know I have done it to others with my own vices.
/r/MensRights25/07/09 07:59 PM

"My current spouse says I should put on more weight--not a chance." Right choice. Sounds like she might be looking for an excuse just in case she gains a little.
