Trump is quite literally a convicted rapist. This is not hyperbole at all, it is a plain statement of fact.

I accept your premise that the percentage of unhappy marriages is very high when you account for the divorce rate plus unhappy couples who do not get divorced. However, I think believing that 70-80% of marriages are unhappy = a 70-80% chance that this will happen to you specifically is the wrong way to think about that figure. A lot of people make terrible decisions about all kinds of things, including who they marry. If you marry someone because they’re hot, or because they were convenient and …

People, for the love of God, stop commenting on this account’s posts. this is so obviously a troll account. If you have any doubts, check the post history. Morally I agree with the sentiment of this post, which is that women should be allowed to dress however they want, and that they are not responsible for the behavior of men. This post takes this obvious truth and and exaggerates it to an extent that it becomes a bad take. That is what this account does in pretty much every single post. We ser…

I see no reason to not believe you when you say you’ve been physically assaulted by women. You don’t have to imply that I’ll ask for proof of that. As far as the clip, I agree that it is crude and awful, but it’s not even close to being a representation of all women. I think there’s a lot of selection bias going on here. What kind of person goes to a live taping for a show where dumb B-list celebrities sit around and gossip about the news? Also, according to the Wikipedia article on this crime, …

If any person, man or woman is getting physically assaulted in a public place, people should step in to protect that person. If women get away with physically abusing men, that is bad. It is not a reason to watch a woman get assaulted, though. If a woman is getting assaulted and you do nothing for the reasons you listed above, you’re either assuming that she’s okay with women hitting their boyfriends despite not knowing her at all, or you’re projecting your negative feelings about women onto her…

First, I’m a man, not a woman. Secondly, what man has been stabbed by twenty different women? Third, if a man is jaded towards women, that’s obviously his decision, and in a dating context it could potentially make sense if a guy has had a lot of negative experiences, but if you see a woman getting assaulted, and instead of seeing a fellow human in danger, you think of women who have rejected you and project that onto a stranger in need, that is extremely sad and pathetic.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 11:30 PM

This is really sad. As others have pointed out, it’s very telling when someone fantasizes about doing nothing while a woman is getting assaulted. If you could really sit and watch a violent crime happening in a public place right in front of you, and rather than doing literally anything to help a fellow human who is in danger, you sit back and think to yourself that this woman is getting what she deserves because of feminism, you need therapy, and it’s no wonder women don’t want anything to do w…

Bro you’re making a lot of assumptions about a marriage between two celebrities you don’t personally know. Yes, Tom Brady is rich and handsome and famous. Doesn’t mean he was a good partner. At the end of the day celebrity gossip and speculation is a waste of time. You could look at their divorce and say that it proved an ideology that you already believe in, but there’s so much we don’t know, and making observations about normal human life by looking at celebrities is a pointless waste of time.

The US had plenty of volunteers in World War 2. They closed voluntary enlistment at the end of 1942 in favor of the draft simply because using volunteers was inefficient at the time, something I’d imagine is no longer a problem with modern technology. Point being that enough people understood we were at war and were willing to fight. It’s not like we HAD to force people to join the army. Right before World War Two was World War One, which also had a draft, and was a pointless bloodbath. Then rig…

This is a bad take. A country that abolished the draft will immediately be invaded by their neighbors? Not having a draft does not mean your country is unprotected. It means you have a volunteer army. My country hasn’t had a draft since the seventies and we’ve maintained a blood soaked global empire just fine, have invaded multiple countries, etc.

Women are entitled to these things in men who pursue them romantically. Of course no one is entitled to anything in a vacuum from all people. If someone has standards that they are entitled to X and Y from someone who wants to be in their life, that is perfectly fine. If you think their standards are unreasonable, don’t pursue them. Not much else to say about this. Everyone knows that no one is entitled to anything from anyone in general. If someone wants a woman’s attention, she is entitled to …

A contraction is a unique type of word that combines two or more other words in a shortened form, usually with an apostrophe. The specific location of the apostrophe represents the missing letter(s). So when combining you + all into one word using a contraction, the missing letters are “ou,” and thus, the apostrophe belongs between the y and the a, not between the a and the first l, you twat.

As far as voting, you’re arguing over pointless minutia. Yes, some states gave women the right to vote, usually because there were not enough women living in that state, and they wanted to attract women to move there. Federally, women were not given the right to vote until a little over 100 years ago. Saying “well technically some states did it earlier” is a poor argument. Would you say the same about abortion or gay marriage? Before 2015, there was no federally recognized right to marry someone…

So some states, but not the county, gave women the vote, and that somehow invalidates the entire argument? Was the 19th amendment just a frivolous waste of time? So because credit cards weren’t as popular back then as they are today, that makes it okay that women weren’t allowed to have them? Do you really think that women being denied this right was to protect them? Is that really your argument? Any answer to women getting fired for being pregnant? I really think the draft is not the slam dunk …

You’re still doing it. A shockingly high number of women have direct personal experience with sexual assault and harassment. “Nationwide, 81% of women and 43% of men reported experiencing some form of sexual harassment and/or assault in their lifetime.” https://www.nsvrc.org/questions/how-common-sexual-harassment#:~:text=Nationwide%2C%2081%25%20of%20women%20and,or%20assault%20in%20their%20lifetime.

Self reported data isn’t garbage, it’s just imperfect. I’m saying that taking self reported data and using just the average to represent it is so watered down that it kind of loses its meaning. I agree that we should always critically interrogate statistics, how they were produced, and how they’re represented.

Bro, you’re doing the thing. Women are telling you that they personally have had extremely negative and even frightening experiences with men, and your reply is “come on there’s no way that’s true! It saddens me that you think patriarchy is a conspiracy theory. What do you make of women not being allowed to vote in the US until a little over a hundred years ago? Or not being allowed to have a credit card until 1974? Or the fact that you could fire a pregnant woman simply for being pregnant until 1978? And if you contend that misogyny is all in the past, when exactly did it end? When did patriarchy pack its bags and go home? As far as your data, I’m going to copy and paste a reply I just ma…

I think there are some problems with this data. Averaging all men and all women across a country of over 300 million people leaves little room for nuance, as averages can be thrown off by edge cases. The data is also self reported, which doesn’t mean it’s worthless, but it does mean it can’t be entirely accurate. I’m sure a lot of people who don’t pull their weight at home overestimate how much they’re actually doing.

It honestly baffles me that red pill men seem so insistent on contesting a fact that is demonstrably true in many marriages. Patriarchy conditions men to expect their wives to take on more household chores, and conditions women to settle for this arrangement. It would be very easy to accept that this is a thing, women are unhappy about it, and just commit yourself to being an equal partner. You don’t have to get all defensive about it. In particular, I’m perplexed by the argument that women are …

I don’t think anyone is suggesting men should wear makeup, and I think you yourself know that that’s a straw man. Women are more likely to take care of their skin, watch what they eat, style their hair, have nice clothes and maintain some sort of distinct personal style, maintain their body hair, etc. I think you know this is what people are referring to.

I don’t think that anyone is arguing that men are inherently uglier than women. The issue is that doing things to actively maintain your appearance is far more common for women than it is for men. Many men let themselves go, so to speak. It doesn’t mean they have to be ugly, it means they’re choosing to not shave often enough, not take care of their skin, wear old worn out clothes that don’t fit, etc.

That’s a very interesting use of the word everyone. Bro I’m seriously begging you to stop listening to celebrities running their mouths on the Joe Rogan podcast. It is not real life at all. Don’t use female celebrities to form your opinions about women.

So you bring up one tiny example, I say “that’s one tiny example,” and you accuse me of a logical fallacy? I agree that women are sometimes violent towards men. That does happen. In general, kids have a wide range of needs when it comes to how they learn. Having to sit still for an hour is difficult for lots of kids, not just boys. Trouble focusing on something that’s boring is difficult for lots of kids, not just boys. Bro you’re caring way too much about something a celebrity said on a podcast. That is absolutely not real life, and if you ever meet a woman who thinks that way, you should avoid her. I used to be a teacher in the US, and honestly, some parents need to do a better job of parenting their kids. Boys and girls both have problems, but being overly rambunctious all the time, constantly being disruptive and disrespectful, causing problems in the middle of class, damaging school property, etc. was a behavior I saw almost exclusively from boys. Not all boys! The vast majority of them were perfectly fine, respectful, good students, etc. but if there was a kid consistently acting like …

Very bad idea. School is where kids learn how to socialize. By the time a kid graduated high school they’ve spent over 10,000 hours at school practicing socializing with other human beings. Gender segregated schools don’t help kids learn how to socialize with an entire half of the population and can lead to social deficits.

Men can be abused to and it can be bad, I’m not disagreeing with that at all, and I agree that our society needs to do a better job of supporting male victims of abuse. The difference is that women rarely ever violently assault men in a way that threatens their bodily autonomy or even their life. Women have good reason to be wary of men, and women telling each other to be careful is not mutually exclusive with men telling each other to be careful, nor should you see it as personally insulting wh…

/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 05:19 PM

I flare as blue pill just because I wholly reject red pill. Red pill does have some good advice, but it’s all highly generic and can be found elsewhere. (i.e. be confident, accept rejection, work out, etc.) everything on red pill is either generic self help or misogyny.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 05:19 PM

Women make the very true and accurate point that a surprisingly high percentage of men are misogynistic and can be violent and dangerous, and tell each other to be careful. You posting a link to a short clip of a celebrity saying something stupid is not at all the same thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 03:49 PM

This statement makes no sense unless you already have a worldview that women are stupid. Men absolutely see what they want to see in a woman who’s attractive! You’re telling me you think men NEVER assume a woman is a good person and overlook red flags just because she’s pretty? Is that really an argument you’re trying to make?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 03:44 PM

This is such an insanely bad take that I genuinely suspect it’s rage bait. If a real live woman wants you inside her and you’d rather watch videos of other people having sex, that’s one thousand percent your problem. A woman being not adventurous enough or whatever you’re saying does not make real life sex with a real life woman less enjoyable to a normal person than porn. Do you have any evidence demonstrating that women are by and large as a rule not willing to have exciting sex? Or is that ju…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 03:40 PM

Again, you’re describing a vanishingly small percentage of women. It would be hard to even look for male equivalents simply because women commit far fewer violent crimes than men do. I’m making the point that men and women both make poor decisions when it comes to the gender they’re attracted to, you’re responding with cherry picked examples of how women are supposedly different and worse without really explaining why that’s true.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 12:33 PM

Okay, so you agree that men make this same mistake even if it looks slightly different? They associate with women they shouldn’t because they’re attracted to them?

The point stands that without ridiculous hyperbole you’re describing a very, very small percentage of women who love Chris Brown so much that they want a picture with him. I’m curious, do you think men sometimes make poor choices about the women they associate with?

It’s not that we don’t believe in it. When someone talks about evolutionary psychology on the internet, they’re usually making claims that are unverifiable and just so happen to reinforce preexisting beliefs about gender. I’d say a few things in response to this: first, a lot of women still face a lot of pressure to conform to feminine gender roles. Even after years of progress, society still very much treats women differently. If you disagree, you’ve got a case of grass is greener on the other side syndrome. Second, while I do agree on some level that men face pressure to perform masculinity, I think a lot of this pressure comes from capitalism, not women directly. Surely some of it comes from women, but ultimat…

Even if that’s true as often as you say it is, that just means that these women have internalized beliefs and expectations that they need to work through and overcome. It’s definitely internet shorthand, but I think it refers to something additional to just being a doormat. It refers to men who think that acting nice to women means they’ve earned sex, and become angry and misogynistic when they don’t get what they want. Just saying “nice guy” isn’t perfectly descriptive, but it’d not totally synonymous with doormat.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 04:32 AM
-2

I mean all advice can be potentially misinterpreted. “Nice guy” is sort of an idiom, i.e. it’s a phrase that means something other than the literal definition of the words. If someone doesn’t pay attention to the specific meaning of something that’s kind of their fault.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 03:10 AM

Insecure low quality women choose douche bags all the time. Women who make good partners don’t tolerate shitty behavior from men. There are plenty of women like this, and being a decent human being is one bare minimum requirement for having a chance with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 03:09 AM

I mean I have a very specific view on this, which is that all struggles are untimely just labor vs. capital. Identity politics can be important and useful in some cases but ultimately anyone who focused more on men vs. women or black vs. white or Republican vs. democrat is losing sight of the bigger picture, which is that we’re all suffering under capitalism. For that reason I prefer class war over culture war.

I think biology definitely drives our behavior but it’s overstated to fit certain peoples narratives. It’s usually impossible to prove that any given behavior is motivated by pure animalistic impulses, and in general I think evolutionary psychology downplays the role played by modern social expectations in shaping our behavior. For example, I kind of buy that women are on average more selective and men are less selective, since women have to deal with pregnancy and men don’t. I do not buy that m…

1 for both. I think both are extremely overly simplistic and rely on faulty assumptions about how humans behave in the state of nature. I get it, we’re just animals, and sex is a very primal act, so it kind of makes sense to describe human sexuality as though we were just wild animals governed purely by our base impulses. The way you’ve described it is really inaccurate though. Nature is full of animals that pair bond, and there are plenty of species where males stick around and invest a lot of …

How are women the root cause of war when the vast majority of heads of state (King, President, etc.) have been men?
/r/MensRights22/07/24 02:59 PM

The difference is a woman has to carry a pregnancy, enduring physical discomfort and risking lingering medical problems or even death. Men have no such burden. Ideally in a perfect world no person would ever be forced to care for a child they didn’t want, but that’s the risk you run if you’re having sex with someone. If a child is born, someone has to take care of it for at least 18 years. If you helped create the child, one of those people is you. If a woman has an abortion, there is no child f…

I agree that the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles. Very true that average men and women historically and even to this day have very little power compared to the wealthy elite. I still think it’s worth understanding though that even when governments were pressured to allow voting, in most cases, these rights were extended to men decades or even a century or more before they were granted to women.

Yeah I mean I agree with most of what you said but still voting rights were mostly incrementally expanded to more and more men while totally excluding women before eventually including them.

I’d say average men then all women was part of expanding voting rights to all people. Doesn’t change the fact that many counties gave men the right to vote with some restrictions for in some cases 100 years or more before it was given to women. I don’t see anyone claiming that men have been voting for for millenia.

Don’t you think this reply sounds a little bitter? There’s more to equality than voting. It’s certainly important, but what makes this chart “bad news for feminists?”

/r/MensRights13/06/24 10:11 PM

Before universal male suffrage, there were often voting rights for only certain men. Some men were excluded, but 100% of women were. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suffrage Some notable examples: France had universal male suffrage in 1792, and no women’s suffrage until 1944. Germany gave men the right to vote in 1848, and gave women the right to vote in 1918. Japan gave male taxpayers the vote in 1889 and women in 1945. Norway gave male landowners the vote in 1814, women in 1915.

All the same, in a world where more women are economically dependent on their spouse, that will result in more women who can’t leave a marriage that isn’t good for them.

Everyone is free to make their own choices but it’s about what kinds of lifestyles are glamorized and encouraged. I for one see Tradwife content and feel afraid for women who will decide they aspire to that kind of life, achieve it, end up in an abusive marriage, and hopefully have enough support from family to be able to leave. It’s free will, sure, but it’s also free will to tell women to be skeptical of the message that you can just not have a job and rely on a man to solve all of your proble…

I’m trying to explain, as far as I can tell, why a lot of women don’t like trad wife content. I’m not saying no one should do it, I’m just saying that, as far as I understand, trad wife content promotes a lifestyle that it risky because it reduces a woman’s ability to protect herself and make positive decisions for her own life.

I agree that marriage is inherently a leap of faith that can backfire but that’s not a reason to subscribe to an all or nothing mentality. A person can get married and hope it works out but also maintain their own ability to support themselves financially in case things go south.

Having to leave home with no money and live in a homeless shelter for an unknown amount of time while spending money you don’t have on legal proceedings doesn’t sound ideal to me. Again, I agree that supports exist, but that doesn’t change the fact that financially relying on your husband and just hoping they don’t become abusive can be a very risky proposition.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/24 06:02 PM

This is overly simplistic. If a woman owns a small business that earns significant income she is not a trad wife. And having “systems in place” to support women doesn’t eliminate risk. You talk about a woman taking half of her ex husband’s wealth like it’s a given, which it definitely is not. And even then, it requires legal fees. And the possibility of eventually getting alimony does very little for a woman trapped in an abusive marriage who does not have the means to support herself immediatel…

I agree that not all housewives are abused. All I’m saying is that having no money makes it harder for a woman to leave if she is facing abuse, and having a big gap on your resume makes it harder to get a job. Again, feminist movements worked hard to prioritize a woman’s right to earn her own money, not because having a job is the most important thing a person can do, but because it could literally save your life. Tradwife content is basically glamorizing a lifestyle that can backfire very badly…

In general, if a woman earns zero money, she’s in a very vulnerable position and can be easily exploited and abused by her husband. There’s a reason feminist movements fought so hard for women to have the right to get an education and have a career.

More risk directly translates to incidents of violence. If doing something results in someone harming you violating your bodily autonomy, does that mean doing that thing is hard?

Maybe if you’re subscribed to an ideology that thinks very little of women. I would say it’s self evident that you’re wrong, and while women can sometimes treat a man differently just because he’s attractive, just like some men do for women, that’s not really an answer to the question at hand.

A lot of men in the replies with zero empathy for the daily lived reality of being a woman. Comparing few prospects to the risk of violence is kind of apples to oranges, but this person is basically right. There are outliers, of course, but by and large, men don’t have to fear violence from the opposite sex nearly as much as women do. Even if a man goes on a date with a woman who ends up being dangerous and crazy, odds are low that she’s stronger than him and could literally just kill him if she…

Guys the internet is a shitty toxic place where often the most inflammatory statements possible get traction and attention. There are evil awful people, men and women, posting online. Ignore them. How would you feel if a feminist subreddit had a couple of screenshots of ONE GUY saying something awful and sexist? You’d correctly identify that that’s just one person and doesn’t represent all men.

What’s your point? The comment I’m replying to is accusing this woman of being a degenerate who belongs to the streets lmao that’s a lot of really bitter hateful assumptions to make about a person simply for being a single mother. The only thing that is automatically inherently true when someone is a single mother is that somewhere there is a man not taking responsibility for his child.

The more time you spend on social media, the for money they make from showing you ads. Social media algorithms know that negative emotions are a much stronger motivator than positive ones. Thus, social media amplifies inflammatory content. Try not to let it get to you.

This is a straw man. You’re describing a woman who openly contradicts herself constantly. Certainly, there are women like this, but they are not good partners and do not represent all women. The average woman is not accusing their boyfriend of cheating while talking to their ex. Anyone who does that is manipulative and disloyal and you should not be in a relationship with them.

Men’s mental health is important, but so is pride month. Commenting under a video about a different celebration of a different group of people and insinuating that their celebration is somehow a problem for men makes men’s rights seem hostile and negative. What if someone commented on your post about men’s mental health and said “it’s also pride month but you obviously don’t care about that?” That would be annoying and off topic.

I don’t think this is a double standard. Saying you deserve better doesn’t mean any one particular individual person owes it to you. Men could say the same thing. A man deserves a partner who loves and cares about them, but that doesn’t mean one specific person owes them that.
