Definitely be lawyered up ASAP; she gets half of where you are at AT the time of the divorce settlement signing here in NYS

1 - read the art of war by Sun Tzu. Divorce can be amicable or it can be bitter; mine is the latter. Now that the dust is settling, the ex just makes long long term moves that don’t show real teeth at first. Lawyer up and sit behind your lawyer - they work for you. And screw emotions- those pesky things got you in this mess.

Think and act only on behalf of the children. The time for fair and equitable parenting is over; you are the Dad and you are second priority after the mother; usually. Invest in the child.

Your ex will have to go tot the court where your settlement was accepted and open a new case SUING YOU for more support. Shit ain’t modifiable without time and effort.

It gets better. Once you are able to learn that there is nothing you can do to change the other person. Once you are able to forgive her and yourself for the mess your marriage ended up. Once you are able to see yourself 10, 20, 30 years in the future on the shoulders of the life you chose, you get to choose it right now or anytime, and you rly earn to get there. I love the touch of four letter words for your ex. Mine is many and more of those; and I know in 10, 20, 30 years we are going to have…

Lose all emotion as it pertains to your EX; they are the smarter gender and sex in times like these. Just remember how you felt when you thought she would be the one and take care of you. I pay through the nose to my ex; even her trumped up charges in Family Court that have gone nowhere and bled me $10K in legal fees. I tell myself that there is nothing special or unique about my divorce. My ex HATES ME AND ONLY ME IN THIS WHOLE WORLD. Once I accept that, I understand.

If you are separated, then you should already be lawyered up. At least there should be a “settlement agreement in place” which can be submitted to the courts at any time. Ex did this at the on start. I played along. Once she got level feet she cleaned me out in court. Best be prepared.

Got my own place explicitly with room For the kids. Then moved into a home. Put your ex in the rear view mirror and focus on being there for the kids. Lawyer up. Don’t develop a drinking problem.

Just joined. Forgive me. Lawyer up. Stop talking to her. She is not your friend. She is a stranger in your home.

I’m not looking up that acronym. Dude, this is gonna set the pace and tone from here on out. Get a lawyer. Get one that costs 5 figures in retainer. And have them take care of your infestation problem. If you don’t, you’re gonna get screwed. And you end up hearing yourself tell the same story as other divorcEd/separated men.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
