tbh I think people in this sub are pretty cool. Most of the time you can disagree with the op or someone in the comments without being downvoted to hell. People will upvote you if you are respectful, even if you don't have the "mainstream" opinion. It's refreshing to have on reddit. Obviously it's not always constructive and there is circlejerking but still...

He only appears that way because he's handsome. Put a fat ugly guy with the same body language and he won't seem charismatic at all. People are mysterious because they are attractive, not attractive because they are mysterious. Now I know someone will give me the argument of "I know a guy who..." or "this celebrity is ugly but.." but this argument doesn't hold. We almost always forget to factor in certain characteristics (money, status, etc.) and most of all it's all about statistics.

Being ugly is a disadvantage but notes fatality. It means you have to work harder, be more sociable or funnier, or have more status. All of those things are correlated to physical beauty but not entirely caused by it. For example, it's hard to develop an outgoing personality when you've been marginalised since you were a kid, but it's possible.

Obviously I'm not familiar with your exact situation so you might be right, but ask yourself, if you were some Brad Pitt looking guy, or the man of her dreams, do you think she'd be "confused" and hesitant or would she show herself available and even pursue you ?

It seems clear she's keeping you around for validation or to make herself feel wanted. After the first 2 times of asking someone out, if they're busy but they don't try to set up a date, you should move on.

Damn cool man ! When you think about it, you really had nothing to lose. The way she interacted with you was enough of a signal to ask for her number, and even if she said no because she was just being friendly and helpful, you'd still have a win for having the guts to do that

Don't you think if you asked her out right out of the gate she would have said no ? When you took the hour to get to know her and she saw that you were funny/pleasant (you had inside jokes already) she was more inclined to accept your invitation.

Everyone is saying go for it but keep in mind that relationships at work are sometimes really harmful. I don't know what your respective positions are but if you do end up with her and it doesn't work out, it could backfire. So stay level headed dude, she's not the only girl who's going to like you despite what you might think !

More like, girls can get attractive guys in two clicks, why would they bother wasting time on an average guy ?

Yeah so it was realy status, money and good looks that did it. Nothing new under the sun

What do you mean by setting the frame? Making a joke?

People keep talking about finding interests but what exactly ? I spend my week days working and working out and on the week end I simply go out with friends or play video games I like doing those things but they don't make me particularly interesting or stand out from other people.

That works for attractive guys but if you're average with an average life, you need to sway them with an exceptional personnality

My friend group doesn't take pictures and I feel like it would be awkward for me to ask them to take multiple pictures on a night out.Where I live it's unsual for guys to take pictures of themselves like that... I feel doomed

So you don't agree with what he said at all ? Do you think this is all too calculated ? He mentionned that you have to be yourself and not fake a personnality you think will get you more girls

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
