I’m so sorry sis. Do you own your townhome or are you leasing?

Wow! And to think this is the type of literature that is presented to little girls. I’ve started to look at dating like a business transaction. I’m sorry but, what’s in this for me? Is this a mutual beneficial partnership? There’s no way in hell I’m going to settle for 10%.

I’m Black as well and I can attest to this. My mom had 4 girls and one boy. Guess who had to “pull their weight”? All of the girls. I’ve been working since I was 15 while I can never recall my older brother having a job. I started buying my own clothes, cell phone bill and all my school dues shortly after. As an adult my brother still bums off women and expect them to provide. I admit I’m a former pickmeisha who didn’t require much from men. Now that I’m divorced from a lvm and leveling up I don…

SAME! I come from a long line of single, unmarried women who “don’t need a man”. So they do it all and don’t ask for much if anything. Breeding ground for users and losers.

Number 6 is especially on point for me! I’ve out earned many of my partners and still was expected to do the brunt of the housework, planning, etc. Then I’m expected to turn around and go through pregnancy which in itself can be pretty traumatic. Then turn around and raise said babies and care for them physically, emotionally, work full time and still give you sex? I laugh at my younger self. I’m not going for that mess anymore. Until you prove yourself capable of providing for US, you can’t be …

And it’s my business Instagram with NO pictures of me. He has well over 5k followers and would not promote my business when we were together. Such a loser!

It’s a privilege to even be in my presence at this point. Entertainment isn’t free so why should me entertaining you be? 🙄

He’s blocked on my phone and found me on IG. I should have blocked him at the first contact but I thought I would humor him. He’s blocked on IG too now 🤦🏽‍♀️

Oh yes to this as well! Knew a guy who lived in brand new luxury condos but the place was a mess. Bathroom was disgusting, dishes in the sink, noped out of there so fast. It’s one thing to be a little messy but you knew a woman was coming over and made no effort. Old me would have offered to tidy up for him. 🤮

If it was cultural or for example you were saving for a house and had a game plan that would be different. I would love to be able to stay with family to save but it’s not going to happen for many reasons. If you want to date me, you need your own place because we are not Netflix and chilling where my child and I live. I’ve made that mistake before and now I’m super secretive about where I live.

One would think this is a no brainer but I didn’t use to put a lot of emphasis on if a man didn’t have his own place. Now that I’m divorced and over 30 this is a huge pink close to red flag for me. I keep a roof over my child’s head and have ran into men who are looking for a place to stay or house hop. After their failed relationships instead of standing on their own two feet they run to mom or family until they can meet their next victim. Often times these same men won’t cook or clean because …

I think I’m done being “friends” with men. I was quote unquote best friends with one for years before we both got married and he hit on me after my divorce even though he was still married. The other stopped reaching out me once he got a girlfriend and would only check in when she made him mad. Last time we spoke he let me know he was a baby on the way with his ex but has yet to tell his current girlfriend. I can’t with the audacity!

It’s okay to feel upset and triggered but the good thing is you were able to see through his bs. Men KNOW this day is a trigger for some of us and uses that to their advantage to be manipulative. Hugs to you mama.

Y’all, apparently there’s a glitch because a message came through despite being blocked. It said (I don’t know if you’re in a mood but Happy Valentine’s Day pretty lady). I’m a bit ticked off and started to go off on him but I simply responded “ It was nice getting to know you but I don’t feel a connection between us and rather not continue to text and chat as friends”. His response “ that’s so messed up but I’ll respect it” 🙄🙄🙄

Yes to this! I’m not ashamed to say this is one of the pitfalls I have ran into. Even happened with someone who I met through a mutual friend. He would want to text ALL day everyday even after me telling him I preferred a phone call. In the span of many months we went on TWO dates and the second one only happened because I was in his area and he “happened to be free”. Couldn’t be bothered to plan dates for us but would go out with friends or order in food a few times a week. I’m so glad to have …

I literally blocked every male in my phone yesterday. I decided I am tired of wasting my time on low effort men. I was free last weekend and this one and let it be known. I left them on read after various “oh what are you doing with your free time” bs. I guess I was supposed to be the one to plan something? I figured I would save myself the annoyance of receiving bs texts today and just blocked! I am cooking my favorite meal today, some light cleaning and starting a new book. Happy Valentine’s D…

Connected on OLD, agreed to meet at a bar near my house. Red flags GALORE! He showed up late, I stupidly waited and had already had a drink. He got an attitude because I wouldn’t come “meet him at the door”. I tried waving and flagging him down which caused the guy sitting next to him to tap his shoulder and point to me. This also annoyed him. He bragged about being able to take shots not knowing I’m little I’m not a lightweight lol. We had two shots and and I had a beer. In hindsight I think he…
