I had a man do that to me on a first date. He asked for a hug at the end and I said I wasn't too into PDA, especially upon just meeting someone. I actually would have had no problem hugging him if it was a good date, but he was awful all the way through. Pretty much just monologued and negged me the entire time. Right after I said I didn't want to hug, he forcibly did it anyway and also kissed me. I walked away pretty traumatized. Definitely blocked him immediately. I have no idea why they think…

Yeah all these comments are my experiences with self-proclaimed simple men. They always have low or no empathy and don't want to be bothered with your feelings.

Yes! I did the, "What did you have in mind?" for the first time a few months ago. He replied "drinks?" so I blocked him. I'm still proud of myself. So sick of men trying to force feed me alcohol to get sex.

This reminded me of the first time I went to learn how to shoot a gun. The instructor (male) didn't seem all that surprised that I was an excellent shot as a beginner. He said it's because women are better with guns than men. I accused him of trying to flatter me but he said it's true, because women actually listen and follow instructions.

I once ate a burger and fries and a man said, "Wow you must have been hungry!" I was so confused lol. Pretty standard meal.

I was just talking to a woman about how I wanted a man as "good" as I am, as far as skills, finance, emotional intelligence, etc. and basically everything you listed. Her response was that she would like that too but she has a boyfriend because the kind of man that I want... doesn't exist. I need to work on her lol.

Definitely. I was recently at a bar on my own and one of the male members of staff was flirting with me heavily. I was into it but I noticed the (female) bartender was staring at us. She eventually said to the guy, "Didn't your wife just have a baby?" Yeah my ardor cooled immediately.

I'm very religious, but gnostic, which places personal experience of the divine above the rules of manmade religion. If you're a woman wanting to connect with God, it's completely doable on your own. You don't need an intermediary, especially not a man.

I'll go 50/50 with any man who spends as much time, effort, and money on his appearance as I do. Pretty sure I'll never meet a man who can rise to that challenge.

I recently attended a women's retreat that was going to have a drum circle. I'm an experienced belly dancer so I brought my dancing skirt, I was excited to teach some moves. Well it turns out that the person leading the drum circle was a dude. I thought him an odd choice, it being a women's retreat and all... I danced anyway and at one point the man stood up with his drum, locked eyes with me, and gave me this hungry expression. I gave him a mean stare and shook my head sharply and he sat down. …

I've gotten, "You're a breath of fresh air," a couple times. Hated it. This was years ago too, I could never figure out why it rubbed me the wrong way. I think because it was a subtle neg to other women and I've always been a woman's woman. Don't bash ladies like it's lifting me up.

People told me to give eHarmony a try, that if I used a paid service I'd find higher quality men actually looking for a relationship. I paid for 6 months then got rid of it. Same kinds of men, just 20 years older than me.

The worst sex I've ever had has been with men who whined about how I was intimidating. The best sex I've ever had was with the few men who courted me and took charge of dating.

I'm actually still on OLD, I thought with my recent move it would help me meet men. Yeah it did, low effort pornsick men. Since I've been applying the handbook, OLD doesn't work at all. I hardly get any matches because I won't send likes first. If I do get a match, they start in on the sex or trauma talk right away. The last match I got I thought looked perfect. Incredibly handsome, tall, active, well-written profile. Soon as we matched he sent me a voice recording about how he was glad to have …

This reminded me of a time when I was crossing paths with a man on a set of stairs who was wearing an obnoxiously giant rosary around his neck. I scooted over to accommodate him, but at the last second he rubbed up against me while I was passing him and said, "Hey sweetheart," with a lecherous smile.

No, unfortunately. As an aside, I hate that as a woman it's very often assumed that I'm cruising for a man when I go to a bar alone. So many times in my life when I've gone out alone the men will try to pick me up, and the women will give me dirty looks and huddle up closer to their men. I like a drink or two at a bar by myself. I spend most of my time alone, on purpose, and I'm good with that. Just let me drink my martini and contemplate existence in peace!

I'm nervous because I think I'm heading into this territory with someone. About a month ago a man at a local bar stopped me as I was leaving and said, "I like your tattoo. I've seen you here before." I replied, "Yeah it's a good place," and left. That's it. A couple days ago I was at a different bar and the same man sat next to me with a hearty and familiar, "Hey girl!" I left immediately. He acted like we were old friends running into each other, it struck me as very odd.

I had one date with a man and if I didn't respond to his texts within 15 minutes, he'd do that. Text me "Guess you're busy" or just "Ok..." I reminded him that I'm active and wasn't going to stop jogging to respond to his texts right away. He drove me crazy almost immediately so it didn't progress past that first date.

A woman I knew went on a few dates with an unemployed man, wasn't feeling any real sparks. She comes home from work one day and there's a moving truck outside of her place. He just showed up to move in, with his teenage son in tow. And she let them in! 🤡 She told me at least she'd get sex regularly now. 🤡🤡 She kept trying to get romantic with him until he finally admitted he wasn't attracted to her and just needed a place to stay. After hearing that, she let him stay a few more weeks. 🤡🤡🤡

Yes, I do this all the time. I just went to a new (to me) place for lunch and sat at the bar. Excellent service since they weren't busy, and a salon owner sat next to me and we talked hair. Now I've got a great new contact for a new do!

A man who was good looking sent me a message on OLD that was, "Can I please take you on a date?" I was like, wow that was so sweet, simple, and proper, hell yes. Then I check out his profile and all he says in his description is, "I can't wait to take you on a date and then have you tell me I'm not your type." Lol we can just skip the date then, sir. I don't get what they think they're going to accomplish with aggressive or passive aggressive profiles.

I ordered a pizza once when I lived alone and when I opened the door for the driver, I got a weird feeling. He looked at my bottom half strangely and told me he liked my pants. I've been in this body long enough to know that means, "I like your ass." Especially since the more crass men on the street will just come out and say that. Then he asks if I have a dog. Ugh, a coach in jiujitsu put me up against a man who was there for his first time. He was doing just fine all during class but I was the first woman he was going to roll with. Before starting with me, he looks at the coach in a panic and says, "What do I do??" The coach looked confused and just gestured for him to engage with me. When I was still married, I was out to dinner with my ex and his father. I had a burger and some fries, I think. A normal amount of food. And I ate it all. He also finished his meal, so did my ex. But for some reason, my ex in-law made a big deal about me finishing my plate. He said loudly, "Wow, I guess you were hungry!" and pointed at my empty plate and laughed. There's a spiritual MeetUp group that I was interested in joining. Then I found out that they have the meetings at the organizer's house. I told him that wasn't very safe for solo women but he refuses to meet anywhere else. The whole thing reeks of a predatory situation.

In my younger days I asked SO many men out. I definitely fell for the "it's empowering" lie. Not a single one of them said yes, even when we'd been flirting and I thought for SURE they'd say yes. It was obviously a turn off. A lot of times they'd disappear for a while after I asked, then come back and try to get the date. By that time, I'd mostly forgotten about them though, and never said yes. At least in my clown shoe days I knew not to accept that level of disrespect. One man accepted my date…

This is so real. I knew a guy who said he was a martial artist and he asked me to spar with him. I know jiujitsu and Muay Thai myself so I said sure. I asked where he trained so I could meet him there. Turns out he'd never had a single formal lesson ever. He wanted me to "spar" with him in his tiny one bedroom apartment, suuurrrrre... He said he was a Kung Fu expert. Probably just meant he's seen every Bruce Lee film.

Omg I've had male "friends" talk this way to me in the past. Acting concerned when I do something like buy a house or just move somewhere else. They show up to talk to me about how I could be making a bad or impulsive decision. Like, what? You're not even my boyfriend, why do I have to sit down and talk to you about my life decisions?? The food counter reminded me of an ex. Every time I was at his house and he cooked for me, I realized he served me smaller portions than him. If there was alcohol involved, my drink was smaller than his. I thought I was imagining things at first but then I finally brought it up. He said that men need more calories than women, and that men's livers can handle more alcohol. Then said, "It's not fair, but that's the way it is." Just today a woman was telling me her husband recently retired. Even though they both worked all their lives, she also did everything around the house. She told her husband that now that he was retired, he had to help out with chores. He said ok, then asked what exactly she wanted him to do. She was exasperated and said, "Cook! Clean! Do anything!" He still does nothing unless she specifically tells him to, and he does it badly. Also, my mom once told me she told my dad to do laundry. He went do…

I broke up with a man once and he went right to my mother and told her I raped him. 😂 Who knows why the "logical" sex does all the crazy shit they do. At least my mom's not stupid. Her response was, "And then you woke up?" But who knows what he said to others in my family that was believed. Men are so batty.

Just a couple days ago one of my closest friends said she wished she could stand on her own like me, instead of being a serial monogamist. It was a surprising thing to hear, I never thought of her that way. I told her about this sub, I hope she joins us. 🙂

My ex had a tantrum at a party because I wanted to leave. It was 3:30am and he had been PASSED OUT in a corner for a couple hours. I woke him and he insisted that we stay. Even though I was exhausted and (always) expected to drive home an hour. He literally screamed in the middle of these poor people's apartment. Opened up his mouth and bellowed like an angry toddler. One of the most embarrassing moments of my life. On the drive home he yelled at me about how awful I was the whole way.

I used to be a fraud specialist for a credit card company. Once a man tried to claim fraud on purchases that were obviously his. When I told him that he was responsible for his bills he faked a heart attack. He kept screaming about how he couldn't breathe. He got mad when I recommended he call an ambulance instead of taking the purchases off his card lol. Breathing all heavily like, "But can't you wheeze do something wheeze for me! Poly is gross. I used to be into it, I thought it was a good option for me as an independent person who likes her space. No. It's bored married couples who use you as an experiment to see what their marriage can handle. And spoiler alert, they can't handle it. Or, it's people who are obsessed with collecting as many lovers at once as possible. I'll never forget going to a fancy restaurant with a poly boyfriend. The place had a strict no cell phone rule, to keep the ambiance pleasant. He used the…

Yes! I put a stop to LVM really quickly when I was into OLD while working for a department store. Yeah I worked for the store, but I worked in the corporate office. I never told matches that. They'd immediately ask what I did for a living, I'd tell them I worked for said store, they'd immediately unmatch.
