Lol what. The formula still stands. Progressive overload. If you were to use your numbers. Total would be 600lbs total volume. We aim to improve upon that. Either with reps, load or sets. Add another 5lbs. Thats 750lbs total volume. Lets say you cant add 5lbs on a weekly basis. Fine np. Add 1-2 reps a week. Still overloading. I think you missed the basic principle. The numbers I used are arbitrary.

You're not wrong. I usually do one heavier day and one volume day per week per lift. I just posted the 3 days a week. For template for people who had nothing. Figured not many people wanted a 6 day a week program. If you're interested I can sendcthe 6day program your way

Its for Begginers. But thanks for your brilliant comment. You've added much value.

Exactly. I usually advocate an RPE 8-9 so 1-2 reps left in the tank so to speak

Strength or hypertrophy? Id say the optimal range for hypertrophy is as heavy a weight that you can use proper form and perform atleast 3-4 reps on the heavier compounds. For isolation movements 8-12 reps as heavy as possible. You always want to try to go as heavy as possible without breaking form and respecting the rep range to each given exercise. Theres no point in going any higher than 12 reps. Go heavier.

Thanks for the input. There isnt much research in the favor of bcaas. Unless you arnt eating adequate protein throughout your day. They're basically a low calorie serving of a few amino acids. Or they can be useful during long endurance style training, think 2-3 hrs. That being said, if you feel a difference with them, then use them. I use them as flavouring for my preworkout shake.

From google Muscle hypertrophy involves an increase in size of skeletal muscle through a growth in size of its component cells. Two factors contribute to hypertrophy: sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, which focuses more on increased muscle glycogen storage; and myofibrillar hypertrophy, which focuses more on increased myofibril size. Hypertrophy training is scientifically the most effective way to build size. Strength training is sport specific. Powerlifting type of training lets say for example. Still …

Barbell hip thrusts could be a good alternative. Make sure to look up some videos on form.

Egg whites and greek yogurt are good sources of protein. But you should be able to eat enough protein and not go overcyour calorie goal for the day either way. Unless youre eating alot of legumes like beans and etc. Either your carb intake is too high or your protein sources are too fatty.

Hey man, I totally get where you are coming from. I was the same way. I wouldnt self diagnose it as an eating disorder exactly. Unless you have been diagnosed. Most likely what is happening is you're bored and dont know what to do so you eat. I might be wrong though. Only you will know why you binge eat. The first step is recognize your "trigger". Is it boredom? Is it eating while you watch tv? And then replace that habit with something else. Something productive. Thats what red pill is all abou…

I like everything about this comment. Fucking A1 bro. Pretty much all things Im doing myself now. But Ive also been training for years. I wish I would have started with a basic bread and butter program like I posted instead of fucking around with bullshit. That's the reason I made this post, avoid beginners making same mistakes I have. Thanks for adding value in your comment unlike alot of these other comments.

Strength is a by product of hypertrophy. Bigger muscles = stronger muscles.

Agreed. It comes down to personal preference. Altough as far as muscle growth, hypertrophy is the most effective. Thats not my opinion, thats what the current literature states. Like you said, if you're eating right and you are consistent with your training. Results will come. Cheers

What about BEGINNER. Everything you're talking about shouldn't even be considered until intermediate and even advanced lifting. Periodization is progressive overload. For Begginers you dont need complex periodization. The most important part is getting your reps in. Steak and potatoes. Stick to basics. And Im not sure what you mean by intensity techniques. If you mean drop sets and super sets, they havnt been shown to be as effective as working sets but you could add them in for extra total volu…

I dont see how you can say too much volume when the trainee is in control of the intensity of load. Aka total volume. Also accessories can be added in if needed altough if youre performing all these compounds, your arms will grow. Thanks for your input though

Hey man, I usually like sticking to barbell as in my opinion its a better "bang for buck" exercise. However is your shoulder is injured variations might be a good idea for now. I know I fucked up my shoulder when I was training like an idiot back in the day. Depending on what the injury is, hard to give good advice without knowing more. Id say drop the weight on your barbell bench. 12 reps or so. And practice on your form. That was my cause of shoulder injury. I hope that helps

As I said this is just an example of a training program to be used. For Begginers and intermediates. Cookie cutter programs work for everyone if done correctly. Especially for Begginers the most important thing is following a program and sticking to it, I think we agree on that. The total volume shouldnt be affected in a cut. If you're intensity drops, you can add more volume work to make up the difference. If your workouts are still feeling weak, odds are you are cutting calories too aggressive…

Hey man, couple things. The 3 day program isnt meant to be only 3 days a week. Its to be repeated as much as you'd like. With days off as needed. I also stated 1g/lbs of lean body weight. I see youre 20-21% bodyfat according to your post and 95kg or so. Thats around 200g of protein per day for you. If you take into consideration the higher bodyfat percentage, Id say around 180g or so would be on target for someone of your build. If you got any additional questions let me know bro
