Considering that the title says "People think lying about money can do the same to a relationship as cheating.", I think the focus of the article is less about trying to damage someone financially in a divorce and is more about the damage in trust that can be done in your current relationship, married or otherwise.

While I can see where this would be relevant when a judge is trying to decide whether or not a spouse needs alimony or child support during a divorce, I don't see how this relates to men's rights otherwise; it may be dishonest, but it isn't taking anything away other than trust.

The fact that this was the way she chose to react to the situation only makes me think that that's all the more reason NOT to let her near her kid.

I don't see where this is a men's rights issue; this isn't meant to single out men exclusively, as a pregnant woman could just as easily say that she doesn't want a female child.

I don't have a lot of regard for Romney and some of his political positions, but this is just disgusting and unwarranted.

I wonder if the remorse she felt for almost ruining someone's life is as big as the remorse she felt for cheating on her boyfriend. As long as the biggest punishment for false rape accusations is a slap on this wrist and people are not better educated as to the repercussions of what happens to someone who is falsely accused of rape, this kind of activity will continue to occur.

Agreed; nowhere did it say that she was whining about the consequences of her actions, only that her lawyer explained the consequences that occurred as a result. Also, this isn't a men's rights issue.

I was working full time, going to college full time, and raising a kid born from when the girl I was seeing cheated on me with another man and I took her back; I also supported all three of us on my income when I was finished college and started my career. Yeah, I suppose that makes me pretty lazy.

Not really related to men's rights, not to mention that men can falsely lead women on as well.

Considering how intellectually and politically dishonest Moore has a tendency to be, what makes anyone think he wouldn't lie about this?

Considering how ugly she is, she probably got off light because they think she won't be able to get laid twice.

I intended to rejoin this conversation a while ago, but it seems as though disposable_human touched on a lot of valid points that I intended to make for myself (although in different words). Bolshevik, there are two things that you need to understand: As disposable_human highlighted earlier, comparing a woman to a material object is not the best comparison or rationalization to make (not to mention that if a man compared a woman to a material good, he'd be crucified for it). In following with yo…

As once told to a friend of mine from a wise woman: "Don't advertise if you're not selling."

It's all good; it brought more attention to the video than it had originally received when I posted it here a week ago, and when it comes to topics like this I think that's what matters most.

You're a little late... Regardless, the message still holds true; I wonder how the girls in /r/radicalfeminism would react prior to someone deleting it.

You totally missed the point I was making, but I won't bother elaborating because it's pretty apparent that you've already made up your mind and aren't open to another viewpoint on the matter. Feminism is about female equality with men on all levels; it means that you're going to have the same "rights" as a man, but you're going to have the same responsibilities as well. You can make a choice to have a different arrangement with a significant other, but it still defeats the purpose of feminism. …

I already took the blame once for not elaborating on a joke; the follow-up was pretty cut and dry, so that's all on you.

See the above response to meeeow, particularly the part about "comparing apples and oranges".

However poorly worded it might have been, the comment I made was in satire; I deserve the response I got for not further expanding on it. That said, I don't believe you to be an adulterer, but your desire to have a "traditional" relationship is not compatible with modern feminism; if you're doing all of the "womanly" work, then it fulfills the tenement of being a traditional relationship, but is restrictive based on gender. If your significant other helps you with these tasks, the relationship w…

If by "pursuing her passions" she means "pursuing the poolboy", then I can see exactly why she only wants to work a part-time job. Remember: We can't call them out because we'd just be "oppressing" them.

They won't; they'll just downvote comments like yours and mine in a misguided attempt to hide the truth.

People like the one who OP linked to are to gender equality what Al Sharpton is to racial equality; they do little more than to stoke the fires of hatred, and then use the resulting violence to further fuel their hatred.

My girlfriend does this frequently without me asking; it goes without saying that I appreciate it immensely because she's making an effort to contribute her fair share (and plenty of times even more than her share).
