No I find that argument pointless as it strips individuality away and makes life into a boring pancake. It’s more of a hypothesis as to why it’s underreported. Men are often victims in even larger numbers then women in a lot of different scenarios but the majority of time they’re also the aggressors.

Men aren’t perceived as human However, if you live your life with the need to be validated by anyone but yourself you’ll end up depressed and that goes for everyone not just men. I watched the original battle star galactica when I was a kid. I was a bit surprised years later when I heard they replaced my favorite character with a woman in the remake. However, even though I’ve never seen it personally I’ve heard she was one of the most beloved characters on the show. I guess it all comes down to context.

She in no way deserves forgiveness for what she did but I still have sympathy for her. Suicide takes an extreme low for someone to attempt. I think this is another example of not being taught how to manage emotions properly. Men are taught to bury all emotion whereas women are taught that all of their emotions matter. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

This isn’t a loaded question, I’m genuinely curious. What’s the appropriate amount of force to defending yourself in a situation like this? You know that you’re stronger and that you most likely can restrain her without resorting to force. I’m sure we’ve all seen the videos where woman get absolutely destroyed by men they’re assaulting but where is the line.

I think most people assume that a man could stop physical violence against him at anytime and thus doesn’t need “saved.” I’d wager that if this was a woman hitting a little boy the outcome would be much different.

This thread is very oddly worded. Political correctness is a good concept in an idealistic world but not in the real world. In the reality people need to be strong and love themselves. Thanks, I guess I feel like even if I spent hours collecting that information it wouldn’t change anyone’s mind anyway. I’ll say it’s mostly comments with lots of upvotes and not really the posts themselves. Just keep an open mind and you’ll see it.

In my mind MRA’s would focus on bringing equality to issues where men are oppressed. And they do of course do that, but it’s being overshadowed by in my opinion those that are looking to blame women for everything and who aren’t taking responsibility for their own short comings.

I believe you hit the nail on the head with that answer. I’m still a bit confused with the title of the thread though. I find things like this interesting because it shows you that humanity is just a species like everything else. Women are the most vital for continued survival of the species so they’re prioritized even above children. I think that way of rationalization will continue to fade over time but it’s fascinating how present it still is even in modern times.

With issues like this it’s always important to stay rational and avoid false equivalencies. The large majority of men have no issues with being cut and it does provide better hygiene.
