It sounds like it's time for you to "make it his idea". Give him long kisses, backrubs, and talk about how mind blowing it is when he slows down. After you have been intimate, spend time taking about what was good for you and enthusiastically ask for more of what you liked. You're recalibrating to remind him that you like sex and you're interested in him - just not as enthusiastic about certain things. There are a couple of things worth discussing with him. What do his porn habits look like? If …

I think it was Jon Ronson based on my googling but dont quote me on that since I remember a female speaker. I remember that there was an episode later in the season about a young man (like maybe 18 or 19) who had to register as a sex offender. Wish I could be more helpful here, it was so long ago!

Just as a side note, there's a great podcast called The Butterfly Effect that talks at length about issues with porn and porn culture. It's a bit older now, but I would still highly recommend it as a resource to anybody that is still on the fence or has a partner that is still on the fence about porn.

What is in your heart? Do you have genuine friendships/acquaintances? Do you volunteer for a cause you're passionate about or serve in your church? What are you doing to cultivate your interests and passions? If your sole focus becomes being outwardly beautiful, you're missing half of the puzzle. Inward beauty and grace of character is just as important as looking outwardly pretty, especially as you are looking for a long term partner. In 50 years it won't matter if you were a brunette or a blon…

I think you should tell him that you are going to seek some support from your pastors on this issue so he isn't blindsided, but even if he discourages you from doing so I would still go to the pastors. In this circumstance, your disobedience may save him from bigger spiritual issues.

Hello! I would love to throw my 2 cents in here. As his wife, you have the right to confront him on these behaviors and patterns. When you do so, bring up specific recent examples of the behaviors and explain their impacts on you and on the family. He is modeling to your children what is acceptable and what they should expect out if marriage. They may be little now, but if he does not repent they will grow up in an environment where this is acceptable. If he does not repent and change, you absol…

Great post TheStepfordGal! I appreciate what you have shared and I'm going to try out those recipes. I agree, the simplicity that comes from not being /as stressed/ about money is OUTSTANDING. I'm going to add some additional suggestions here that may be more helpful for US based ladies. Have routine budget check ins. Review the budget together. Where are you over spending? Where have you under spent? Are there any bills you feel you can reduce? Knowing where you are at in the budget, insead of …

Marie Kondo comes to mind immediately as does Swedish Death Cleaning moreso about minimalism and only having what you need. If you want to talk storage/organization for trouble spots you can also PM me! I just did a cross country move with my husband and the work we did in the packing / clean out phase before moving day helped everything go with less stress.

Here are some things that worked for me: -Remind once, then pray about it to yourself if it doesn't happen right away. -Ask yourself "would I rather be right or happy?" -Rely on him as the expert of the home. Ask for his leadership and guidance. This helps me to reduce nagging. Married almost 3 years, dated 3 years prior to marriage. No children yet.

I have a decent supply of "arts and crafts" stuff around the house that helps me to make seasonal decor work. Here are some things I have done in the past: Cut paper "leaves" from construction paper to hang on the wall. You could do a leaf wreath or a cascade of falling leaves depending on the space you are filling. Painting pumpkins. Most craft stores have styrofoam/plastic pumpkins that can be painted with acrylic paint. At the end of the season, you should be able to scrub off the old paint f…

Something that I have noticed in a lot of the suggested literature is the concept of having faith in your spouse. Like, if you spend all your time noticing when he leaves socks on the floor and makes rude noise you'll eventually get to the point where that is all you notice. LD or HA (can't recall at the moment) place value in paying attention to the good, noble, and loving things a husband does as a way to help a struggling wife re evaluate her perspective. This helps turn your dunce in tinfoil…

Tasty and healthy is a fun combination- especially when you want to include baking. Some suggestions to consider: Learn to make curry buns- it can be paired with rice, noodles, or other starches and incorporates lots of veggies. *Dim Sum would be a fairly advanced combination as well- I've never made it but have seen bao buns filled with stews and veg mixes before. *If you like cakey, flavor rich bakes it might be worthwhile to explore frittatas. Choosing alternate cheeses, proteins, and veggies…

A few thoughts to consider (and sorry in advance for formatting issues as I am on mobile). Getting comfortable in the kitchen should start by helping yourself to basic items like a glass of water, helping your boyfriend's family wash and put away dishes, and eventually helping the family cook side by side. *If you like to bake, try to ease yourself in to cooking by preparing some savory bakes. Maybe a herby foccacia with cherry tomatoes will give you the confidence to learn to make empanadas, an…

Chiming in a bit late to add a few thoughts. I don't beleive everybody should follow RPW. This approach to life really only works if it's willing. Trying to force others to do things they dont want to do can only end in resentment and failure. I do beleive that everybody can benefit from some elements of RPW. There are concepts here that I see as worldwide: self respect, self care, examination of an individual contribution to a shared issue, boundary setting, respect for others. These concepts c…

I follow the subreddit r/eatcheapandhealthy for recipe ideas! Pinterest is a great place to look as well. I would also suggest looking into recipes specifically for your pressure cooker. Some models come with a little booklet that contains a few ideas and there are a lot of recipes available online with very specific instructions. Some good easy meals that I feel like are showoffy are roasting a chicken in the oven (lots of great videos and recipies or DM me for how I do mine up), roasted brocco…

Based on my life now, I would say I'm probably 30 percent modern. I work outside of the home as the primary breadwinner. I'm college educated and had a blue pilled life prior to adopting the red pill in my late teens. On the flip side, my husband is my leader and my guide. He keeps me safe and leads all of our major decisions with strong discernment. We are Christians and I am starting to examine the idea of being baptized. We plan on multiple children. I have feminine hobbies : baking, sewing, …

Basics with Babish on youtube is a good place to start for a visual learner. Or go to a thrift store near you and flip through the cookbooks until you find one with handwritten notes. If you have the finances to allow for frequent takeout, a meal subscription plan might also be a good jumping off point for you.

Oh man! This is my time to shine! -if my husband has to be away for any period of time, I sleep in his tee shirt and make sure to tell him how much I missed him. This makes him feel so wanted and special. -I carry cards around and if we have an extended wait for our food, I typically will deal in a short card game. I will be very dramatic about my losses and incredibly congratulatory about his wins. I love this element of ease and playfulness that we have. -Wordplay and jokes has been a big one …

Couple of suggestions: -enamel kettle. It is so nice to be able to put hot water on, and if you have a beautiful one you'll be more likely to keep it out on the stove. This is two fold- hot tea and sinus releif for colds -beautiful dishes that are dishwasher safe. It is a pleasure to eat dinner on beautiful platesn and much less of a headache if they can go in the mocrowave and dishwasher safely -If I could go back and re register, I would ask for more linens. I talked a lot early in my realtionship how amazing it was to have a mom at home when I was growing, and when we got to the "do you want to have children someday?" question I shared how I wanted badly to a mother and how important it was to me to stay at home with any little ones I had. Additionally, I started our relationship as a traditional girlfriend! Anxiety can also be helped through talk therapy. If the resource is available to you, these conversations might help you unravel self-protection patterns that don't serve you anymore and develop more ease. Medication isn't the only answer, and for some people it isnt the best answer. The other thing you can do to develop ease is to start practicing at home. Work on developing routines that make you feel safe and comforted- for me that is a regular prayer practice and cups of herbal tea. For you …

What would you think about asking to come to the gym with him and asking him to make a leg day program for you two to follow? Sometimes placing a fella in the role of a teacher helps them to research and evaluate where they still need to learn. Cheesy, but you could also start paying more attention to his legs and complimenting them when you guys are doing other things. Stuff like "I could see your calf muscles working when we were rock climbing yesterday and that was so attractive to me", or as…

My husband and I like to watch movies or play board games. Fridays are our fun day- we go to the diner for breakfast before work and plan a quiet date. We also have started to experiment with more active/involved dates: bowling, ice skating, etc. Its time for us to connect and grow together without having a strong agenda.

I think it all comes down to finding and vetting the right partner. A man who will serve as a good leader and provider may or may not necessarily care about body count, provided you are doing work to improve yourself and grow into your femininity. You may also repel some men who cannot fathom a woman with a past. Ultimately, you can't go back and change what happened so you'll need to just find a way to move forward. One thing you can do to help with your personal self control and improve vettin…

I'm newly married and working from home (so not quite a SAHW), and my husband handles our finances. I work in banking and when it came time to make our own budget to tackle our financial goals I struggled immensely. I felt anxiety and fear pretty much every day around money until I asked him to taks over. Regardless of who is managing the money, we hae used Dave Ramseys 7 baby steps as a template to guide our decisions. Right now we are on baby step 3! For a while we did the 50/50 split thing, b…

A few things I wished I had known when I started college: -Make a routine for yourself. I called and wrote to family weekly, went to the gym every morning at the same time, went to my classes, and tried to go to the library to study at the same times. If you set a routine you will adapt better to school AND people will get more used to seeing you around. The first time you go to the gym, sombidy may not approach you- but the twentieth time you're there you might chat with the girl on the treadmi…

I think that the amount of debt you have is manageable. It's less than your annual income. I would suggest making a plan to tackle your debt. My husband and I used a calculator that showed us two different approaches and that helped us make a plan. Look into debt snowball vs. debt avalanche to see which approach will ultimately save you time and interest costs. There are free calculators online that allow you to compare those two approaches. If you have a plan to get your debt under control and …

I cook supper 95% of the time in our home, and meal planning is one of my absolute favorite things. Here is some of my meal plan from this week, laid out with notes. We typically eat leftovers for lunch and I tend to keep desserts on hand. Right now we are working on a big box of otter pops! I really get a lot of value out of Dave Ramsey, especially his every dollar app/website. Some of his suggestions arent the most applicable like the suggestion to sell your car and pay cash for a reliable used vehicle, but on the whole I have really enjoyed his blog posts and the concept of the Baby Steps. He has had a call in radio show for as long as I can remember, and on his website there is a big archive of shows-- you might be able to find a caller in a pretty similar situation as you finan…

I read through Fascinating Womanhood and dip the exercises at least once a year! Its been interesting to see how I have grown and where I still need improvement. I keep a little journal where I jot down notes pertinent to my journey and having a time capsule to transport me back to some of the magic aha moments can be helpful when I am struggling with being my best. Side note: a while ago we did a book club where we read through chapter by chapter. I would loooove a book club like that again!

Counter suggestion to reading: You can also broaden your vocabulary by listening to podcasts. I listen to a swath of podcasts that range from true crime to short stories and creative projects. One benefit of podcasts is you get access to language in context, pronounced correctly. If you want to jump straight to language development, I would reccommend The Allusionist. It's a show that breaks down the pronunciation and history of individual words, often in a humorous way. I would highly encourage…

Early on to the relationship I asked my fella for help with little things. Carrying groceries up to my apartment in exchange for a home cooked dinner is an example. When we went out, I asked him to drive us-- my car or his. If I had a rough day, I would ask him to visit me and read to me. If he was running to the store I would ask for a little treat or extra ingredient. I wouldnt ask him to spend more than $5 on those little things, but we also were students when we met. Me! I've told my boss that I plan to stay at home after my darling and I have kids and she laughed it off. Told me that marriage was a miserable mistake and that every day I would get home and sit in my car longer and longer to avoid going home to my kids. I like working, I like learning and being engaged in such a detail oriented environment-- but I will NEVER tell anyone at work more about my dreams after that response. I would like to have at least 2 little ones with my fella. I'm 22 now and we will be married before I turn 23. I hope to be done having babies before 28. Ideally we stop at 2 but if we end up with 3 or 4 it will be all the more blessing. I'm really really excited to be a mom. We have discussed waiting to start trying to have children until we pay off all our student loan debt (approx 30k left), and I trust his judgement on that. Anybody else really excited for babies around here??

I feel like gray everything is so blah! Any color that's used on everything makes a space seem bland in my opinion. When we own a home, I'm excited to repaint walls with my fella so each room has a different vibe. His office will be dark and jewel toned, my kitchen will be yellow and floral... etc. I think we get too wrapped up in looking trendy to really enjoy the practical side of choosing colors-- to evoke a mood. Its creeping into clothes you-- gray and oversized everything... :( So glad for…

As stated above, it might be helpful for you to find a new part of yourself to love. I dislike my tummy, but love my legs. Another thing to mention is that some excercises can help strengthen your pectoral muscles, giving the appearance of larger breasts. Look into Strong Curves if you havent already. I've just embarked on an 8 week lifting program from them and I'm loving it so far. Something to consider is that you are still young and your body is still growing and changing. I thought that my …

So he and I live together, and we have a joint checking and joint savings account. He and I set up a monthly budget together using Every Dollar (an app from the Dave Ramsey team) and I asked him if he would make sure all the bills were paid on time and if he would keep track of our spending and budget. My fiancee has taken control of our finances, and not having to worry about money anymore is such a blessing to me. For my job, that is stimulating and interesting and is allowing me to contribute to paying down debt. For our home and family's continued safety and health. For my growing relationship with faith, that is giving me rest and peace where there was anxiety. And most of all.. 5. For my hard working, good hearted fella.

Also jumping in here to say: Use patterns to draw attention to other places. A plain blouse paired with a patterned skirt or pair of pants will draw visual attention downward. A scarf, wrap, or headband in your hair can draw attention up to your face. A higher up scoop neck or boat neck may give the illusion of showing skin without emphasizing your chest, especially if the fabric is light and flowy so it doesn't conform to your shape. R/abrathatfits may be able to reccomend a minimizing bra as w…

I am 21 and he is 23. We wanted to marry young for a lot of reasons-- so we would have time to become debt free and get used to married life before trying to have children being a major one. We hope that we can invite our grandparents and his large extended family into our lives as a married couple/new family and it's important to both of us to have children before our grandparents pass on. :) Thank you for your question! One thing I do before my SO gets home is put on music that puts me in a good mood that I can sing along to. I dont have the best voice, but singing is something that makes me feel really feminine and nice. Its a huge mood boost for me and helps me shake off some of the stress of the day before he gets home. He loves coming home to a picked up house, a hot meal, and his happy, singing gal. I dont beat him home very often, but I try to make it a treat when I do. :)
