It depends on your jurisdiction, but, generally speaking, if a reasonable person in your circumstances would have felt afraid for their physical safety, then you were assaulted. By the letter of the law, she struck him with a weapon, so that's definitely assault. Getting police or a prosecutor to do anything in a situation like this is another matter entirely.

That's not a source. In the US, the father can obtain a paternity test without the mother's consent, but it may not be admissible in court. It is not a crime, though.

This is not how I judge anything. I was merely asking how u/bobthemime judges direction since they made such a definitive statement. My whole point is really that I am often unsure how to judge direction, and I don't understand their confidence in separating the direction from the acting and cinematography. Edit: for clarity

By what metric are you judging the direction? The director was ultimately responsible for casting and directing Joaquin, for selecting and directing the cinematographer, for choosing the takes and edits used to display both their work, as well as everything else that went into the movie.

I'm not American either, but alimony, or spousal maintenance, is a thing in pretty much every first-world country. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you may be from Sweden. Spousal maintenance definitely exists in Sweden. It seems to be handled a little more reasonably than in the USA, though.

I feel sorry for you. I suppose you're unaware that many words have multiple definitions and the reader is expected to understand which one is meant by the context. No one in this exchange seems to have used the word technical in the sense you're referring to.
