I am disturbed by the idea that writing a diary entry on a piece of paper can effectively give you an alibi, but if mere words can count as evidence as well I don't see why writings on a paper can't. Thanks!

This is legitimately sad to hear. False accusations affecting the central parts of one's life, like education, is legitimately disturbing and worrying to me. If you ever feel like going back, remember it's never too late to get back in (community college, trade school etc.) or even High-school/normal college. Truly hope you're doing better now.

It's really hard to know about these trends because there are a lot of echo chambers and micro culture bubbles so it can be difficult to tell what's going on for other people and even more difficult to determine general trends from anecdotal evidence. If there is exactly no evidence linking someone to any crime, they should not just keep him in detention until they figure it out. Either get evidence and arrest them, or have no evidence and leave them be. People in the Youtube comments saying he got the kids and a new car and she got 25 years, but not a single news story to back any of it up. Noticed that too, probably should have made it more obvious that his good ending is merely a baseless allegation. We shouldn't just assume that she did it until there's some kind of proof. I haven't been able to find any articles on a good ending for him, hence why the use of "reportedly" as I was just saying what others have claimed. I should have made it more clear that his good ending is not even confirmed, apologies. If he indeed is still suffering then that makes the situation worse. The fact that this woman seemingly was not brought to justice and that his kids are probably still apart from him makes my heart ache.
