I must disagree. Ukrainian society does supposedly not hold the values of those you complain about. Much like women’s rights in the UAE are not representative of the USA, Ukraine was never “our society” to begin with.

War is not about equality. In defending your nation from an invasion, you fight for the lives and livelihoods of your people. It logically follows that if men are heavily prioritized in the draft, they should receive additional compensation from society. I too am Norwegian. I am used to “gender equality” with female preference, and I’m more or less fine with it. To me, this issue is mainly philosophical rather than practical. I don’t think I’d enjoy preferential treatment for my gender, nor do I…

The expression is made in simpler times, when you could say it was “because women are nagging” too. Your problem is that one is allowed and one is not.

Prejudice: a feeling of like or dislike for someone or something especially when it is not reasonable or logical I have learned pieces of information about you, and judge you based on this information. That is not prejudice. I did not assume.

I fail to see the paradox you’re implying. You say I lack experience to validate my opinion, yet when I have it my opinion is worthless? Additionally, you said you’re still struggling. I said I had experience. Those two are not the same. I know better than to blame some group for my negative experiences. If I didn’t have a “I can take this” attitude (toxic masculinity), I’d probably have killed myself many times over at this point.

Best thing you can do is get a new grade. In my country, you can pay the equivalent of 300$ to take a new exam that overrules the year-long average grade. In english written and oral, I got 4 and 5 respectively (scale 1-6), but aced both in overruling exams.

Mm, yeah. “I don’t hate women, but” in a situation like a war that would necessitate a draft, form is less important than function, and equality is a luxury. If every citizen is a soldier, what are they protecting? The flag? Congress? I can’t imagine a male soldier would agree to protect a country that would put his wife on the battlefield. Additionally, there will always be inequality in that the women can just get pregnant. I get that they would too, it’s an easy way out of bloody combat. How …

You attribute malice where there is none. You claim that abortions are refused purely out of a sense of “revenge”. You are wrong. Assuming someone believes that life begins at conception, would it not be deeply disturbing to decide that unfortunate, unwanted children are better off dead? Societies around the world already pay to support unfortunate souls, to a lesser or greater extent. Given that unborn children too have a life, killing them would logically be morally equal to taking the lives o…

Absolutely. I saw this BBC documentary on right-wing extremist a few years ago. The 20-something year-old they follower just seemed to use it as an outlet after a bad childhood and shitty circumstances. There has to be a limit, obviously, but some people just need somebody to listen and understand. He, for instance, didn’t really have an issue with the Indian interviewer, and was quite friendly once the brown person was a person before him. Being wrong is ok. Violence, on the other hand, I would…

Sexual needs are called needs for a reason. Entering an exclusive sexual relationship, there is a certain expectation from both sides that the other will attempt to satisfy those needs. If two parties enter an exclusive business deal, and one suddenly refuses to do business, the deal will be broken off at once. Relationships are not simply sex, but in the early stages, it plays a large part.

You do make some generalizations about men, and there are certain traits that almost all women look for in a man. Even so, I think you make a good point. Rather than getting all women to like you, you should ask yourself what women you like, and target that group specifically.

Agreed. I haven’t really made a decision, though. I too want an emotional connection like that, but I also subscribe to the ideals of logical thought. If x can cause the loss of significant wealth, together with untold emotional trauma, DON’T DO X. Just one of the reasons I believe the state should have little to nothing to do with marriage.

Are there no legitimate reasons to not wish to look like something you are not? For instance, a girl who looks like a lesbian is probably less likely to receive attention from the opposite sex. Why is this “homophobia”?
