Well, his money was given, not earned. He failed Navy Seals training but dresses in military attire Don't you already have to be in the navy to attend Seal training? I didn't think they let fresh bodies signing up for the service go straight from civi to seals camp bypassing the regular boot camp (irk what the navy calls it). It is quite common for this to be a reality, that one spouse makes far more than the other. If it wasn't then you wouldn't see the numbers of MFJ that you do. It is also important to note that married people are the majority of homeowners and mortgage interest deductions is one of the largest deductions on a tax bracket. Ahhh I am salaried, so it doesn't matter that I plan on rolling into work 30min late tomorrow morning and leaving at lunch to play golf. Also, 3 hours per day for cooking meals, laundry and cleaning? What....how? I spend an hour a week on laundry and cleaning and maybe 2 or 3 a week to make dinners. A stay at home mom earns the most money for a family with children as it negates the need for child care. We're talking about a childless relationship here.
