Angelina Jolie walks away $80 million richer after Brad Pitt divorceBased on how family courts operate, boys and young men need to be taught that there is huge risk and life changing consequences if they pick the wrong woman. No one can understand the reality of family court until they’ve been through it. In my experience the two lawyers and various judges collaborated to drag the process out over a number of years to extract all my savings and then set up my ex with a pension to be funded by me so that her lifestyle can be maintained. The system is screwed but … | /r/MensRights | 04/01/25 01:37 PM
I’m losing my kids to a world of feminismJust keep being a good Dad and they will form their own opinions. My daughter has been telling me about privileges and opportunities at school that only the girls have access too. She’s questioning this, asking why is it not available to boys. About four girls’ only programs at school she said ‘kids just want to learn and have fun, why can’t everyone do it.’ The pendulum has swung too far and the kids, including girls, are seeing the unequal treatment and opportunities. Change takes time and the… | /r/MensRights | 13/12/24 11:23 PM
“Patriarchy hurts men too”Does anyone know where the patriarchy meets? I’d like to submit a complaint, my ex gets to work part time while I pay an exorbitant amount to support her lifestyle. Wondering why the patriarchy set things up this way. | /r/MensRights | 15/11/24 06:55 PM

DV counselor deletes herself and kids by jumping off Niagra fallsIf a man did this it would be all about toxic masculinity and domestic violence and you’d be hearing it referenced for years into the future. A woman does it and she’s the tragic victim. | /r/MensRights | 31/10/24 05:32 PM
Men May Be Better Off Staying Single Given the Potential Risks of MarriageNo shit, the risks are huge. Family court is guilty until proven innocent. And when proven innocent it’s still an up hill battle. Total BS | /r/MensRights | 11/08/24 03:14 AM
daughter prefers momAt that age it’s natural she’ll be close with Mom. Make your time with her great, that doesn’t mean extravagance, but quality time. Whatever are her interests make them your interests. Never put down her interests, if she likes Peppa Pig you like Peppa Pig and you sit and watch with her. Do this and the relationship will expand. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/07/24 08:30 PM
Collaborative Divorce failureThe problem is the divorce industry is a dinosaur and is still operating under the assumption that Mom is the caregiver and Dad is the financial resource provider. Every other area of society is very focused on equality these days, expect Family Law of course. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/07/24 07:59 PM
Why do I have homicidal feelings?Don’t do anything regrettable, the system thrives off that. Remember, if you do anything like this it’s more ammunition for the system to treat fathers like second class parents. Work out and run until you can’t any longer. Then contact your state and federal representatives to share your concerns. It’s a small effort but most suffer in silence so nothing ever changes. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/07/24 10:55 PM
Can’t forget my wife’s words…Legally she may not be able to do it but she can make your life a living hell while you try navigate the absurd family law system. | 14 | How much money did you lose during the process of divorce?Family court is a national disgrace, everyone knows all the BS is about money but no one says it.. Five years and counting and the child are never discussed, it’s all about false allegations and money. It’s a BS process sponsored by the government on behalf of the lawyer. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/06/24 01:59 AM
How much did you spend?$150K and the lawyer fucked up the paperwork at what was supposed to be to be the final court appearance. It’s now delayed a year, no money left, fired the lawyer. Trying to do it myself now. The child support office and ex’s lawyer want blood and the system doesn’t care. No one cares about the children, it’s been all about the money. I am nearly broken, how is that “the best interests of the children”. Health in major decline due to stress. | 1 | A letter to my LawyerFamily law lawyer’s expertise is in dragging things out as long as possible and creating as much conflict as possible. | 4 | This is my reality nowIt takes time, small success each day equals success over the long term. You say you want to be single the rest of your life, this assumes there is risk in relationships. You can control for risk by picking the right people to get involved with. You said your ex is selfish, is this a trait that suddenly appeared or was it always there but you ignored it? Look for red flags, a little bit of selfishness in the beginning will only get worse overtime. If you see this in the early stages be sure to p… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/05/24 01:55 PM
Train drivers overwhelmingly middle-aged white menWhere is the headline reading “School teachers are overwhelmingly white women”, it’s a fact. School teachers have a massive influence over children and yet men are overwhelmingly under represented in schools. …but the biggest thing we should be concerned about is not enough women train operators, seriously?!? | /r/MensRights | 01/05/24 06:26 PM
I feel guilty for being a manYou’re 17, these conversations are a trap, it’s not worth engaging in them, especially if you’re feeling shame for things that you did not do. | 48 | Men aren't allowed to show anger or convey they're upsetCorrect. I was advised in family court a man appearing angry is considered dangerous whereas a woman angry in family court is considered to be protecting her children. Similarly, a man crying in family court shows he’s unstable but if a woman is crying it’s because the man did something to her. | /r/MensRights | 20/02/24 12:47 PM

Why is it so hard to watch recent ex wife date? This is total manipulation, she’s trying to hurt you. If she’s doing this now she must have been difficult to live with. Only engage in communication about the kids matters, nothing personal, nothing emotional. As long as you communicate about other matters, it’s going to be very difficult to get her out of your mind. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/24 03:28 AM
Men who won their divorceMan, $31K and 10 months is a light sentence compared to most of us that still didn’t get 50:50. Chill out, play it cool, be the best Dad to your kids. Request the house to be sold, get your payout. If your incomes are comparable and you’ve got 50:50 the financials should be reasonable. Play the long game. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/02/24 03:36 AM
This one is roughMen need to stop assuming a relationship is forever. It’s pushed on us to make a life commitment and put all our eggs in one basket when chances are it will end. Marriage is the biggest gamble of your life and the odds aren’t great. | 4 | Men are you okay with Woman on this sub commenting and posting?I don’t know, if a woman chimes in with some helpful input and wisdom, that’s all good. However, emotional rants about the patriarchy, etc. are not cool. I’ve got to say overall the posts on this form are generally respectful, in my opinion. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for the women’s specific forms I’ve seen…there’s a lot of hate there. Great to see it hasn’t been an issue here. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/02/24 12:08 AM

I am shocked there aren't enough crimes and people killing lawyers and their exesIn retrospect I find it very questionable that the first thing my lawyer asked for is a statement of all my financial accounts. Then over the next five years she extracted all my liquid assets. The lawyers work consisted of a total of maybe 8 hours in court and the rest of the work was essentially emailing, phone calling, and completing court paperwork. No other profession could operate like this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/02/24 01:45 PM
I am shocked there aren't enough crimes and people killing lawyers and their exesThe lawyers are biggest problem with the system. Being rich or being the best looking guy won’t fix things, I’ve found it’s all about personality. Over the span of humanity, and even in the animal world, male and female relationships are vital for survival, not to mention improving quality of life, social, and health outcomes. We’re in a place and time where the social structure doesn’t necessitate male and female relationships and it’s possible, one could argue quite likely, that the person you devote yourself to in life will walk away one from you one day. | 11 | Broken and confusedSorry you’re experiencing this, it really is difficult. After five years since separating I think I understand why it happens in the way you describe today. Back in the day, say 50 or more years ago, marriage was almost necessary for survival in some ways. Women needed a working man to put a roof over her head and food on the table and a man needed a wife if he wanted a family. Yes, Canada is a first world county but fathers are viewed as third class citizens. I fought the system for four and a half years overcoming all the lies and deception for which there is n… | /r/MensRights | 11/07/23 03:23 AM
How many of you are left wingers?I’ve always been on the left until my recent introduction to family law. The left has no interest in addressing the bias against fathers in family court. Going forward I will be voting conservative as they are more likely to change family law to recognize fathers as equal parents. Justin Trudeau hasn’t done anything. | /r/MensRights | 27/02/23 10:21 PM
Father loses custody, son loses lifeNotice how the article makes no reference to the legal system that allowed this to happen? If the father had of committed the same act there would be calls from all angles about the need for law and programs to protect women from domestic violence. When a father is left without their child, not the slightest concern, nothing…not surprising but so wrong. | /r/MensRights | 10/02/23 10:40 PM
Introduction and a vent.Sorry for ya man, it sucks, it really does. But the good thing is there are many others that have gone through it all before and came out the other end, better off too…and you can learn from them on this forum, youtube, books, etc. In short, I can outline the life strategy that I’ve distilled from a lot of work. Others will likely have some version of this framework, but many of the basics will be the same. Here it is: Deal with any past or present trauma. Identify it, manage it, and it might me… | /r/MensRights | 27/09/22 03:21 AM
have any of you had to give up on your hobbies and interests to keep the peace between you and your wife?Been there, done that…wife didn’t like me enjoying anything outside of the relationship/family. As a result all hobbies and friendships were cancelled. This is unsustainable and will only get worse as you will come to resent each other. Consider options and calmly explain your feelings. If she’s reasonable she will see you need personal time. If she’s controlling and toxic she will want to take it as an opportunity to fight. Depending on the outcome consider if this is really the person that you… | /r/MensRights | 29/08/22 07:35 PM
What made you wanna stand up for mens rights/join this sub.Two words, family court. There is no worse experience to go through all because you are a dad that loves your children. Shout out to all the fathers that have been through it and those living it now. Stay strong, love your children, and one day things will change. | /r/MensRights | 22/07/22 03:19 AM
Update to “my wife abused me and called the police”Agreeing with others, if this has occurred it’s likely not a one-off event and could be part of a larger plan she is unfolding. If you stay take lots of precautions and be very careful. Also fully document this event. If you are seeing a counsellor tell them the situation and have them document so when you end up in court this is on the record and they can be called as a witness. If you’re not seeing a counsellor and have EAP at work document through that service. | /r/MensRights | 19/07/22 08:26 PM
Are masks now a symbol of compliance slavery?I don’t think this topic is relevant to men’s rights. While this appears to be an important issue for OP I feel this type of content will detract from the legitimacy of the mens’ rights discussion. Masks are voluntary in the majority of situations and comparing mask wearing to slavery is unreasonable and will make the mens’ rights movement appear ignorant and entitled. We can do better men! | /r/MensRights | 18/07/22 06:01 PM
A horrible but common story. It’s a hard read for parents in the same position. The title says it all “a horrible but common story”. Why is it so common and why has nothing changed? | /r/MensRights | 06/07/22 06:24 PM
the lack of empathy this sub is showing in regards to Roe V Wade is making question whether you really want equality. As a man I am supportive of abortion rights but I also find it peculiar that very few people and even fewer politicians, want to talk about men’s rights to have proper parenting access to their children following separation. In most western countries if the mother contests a father’s ability to parent it takes approximately $150K and two years of hell to try and obtain proper parenting access through the court system. How come this situation is not in the headlines? Why does no one care about th… | /r/MensRights | 27/06/22 03:49 AM
one of big reason why men don't want to date anymoreI grew up feeling guilt and shame for being a man and understanding that women can do no wrong. This was perpetuated in my former marriage where I was routinely lectured about the patriarchy and how it was my fault as a man. This is nothing short of abuse but it is hard to rid myself of the mindset. There are good and bad people of both genders but that is not what society tells us. | /r/MensRights | 09/06/22 02:17 PM
UK: Calling a man 'bald' is sex harassment after employment tribunal compares it to commenting on a woman's breastsIt’s about time, such a double standard….woman comments on a bald guy, no worries, have a laugh…man comments on an obese woman, look out, you in big trouble now | /r/MensRights | 13/05/22 03:38 AM
My girlfriend is trying to get me to get a vasectomyI’ve had issues with mine. Five years out still have pain sometimes and things just haven’t been right since. My ex wife also requested that I get it done indicating she would be more interested in sex. That never happened and then she asked me to leave while she took our kids, the house, the car, and decimated the family finances. I am now 2.5 years into a nightmare separation having spent $70k on a lawyer to basically do clerical work and nothing has really happened yet. | /r/MensRights | 03/05/22 08:58 PM
