I question this stance for leaning into a carceral/punitive framework and I generally don't support giving the state more leeway to impinge individual autonomy. I don't think one needs to resort to name calling

Ooof, my dad was a pilot, he cheated on my mom with at least two women

I hear you but also it's important to address that this line of reasoning is ecofascist and implicitly white supremacist

Lol called me "marriage material", said "together you and I could change the world", we talked every day for three months and then poof, apparently he never saw me as anything other than a friend

Oh my god this one... I was absorbed by an ex's family and when I finally managed to escape I was a shell of myself. Just because I'm not as close to my family doesn't mean I want yours to take me in, erase my identity, and replace it with something more suited to them

I like characteristic noses. Like. Just gimme a big honking statement piece in the middle of their face. I acknowledge that this is a weird thing to like but my ex got a nose job after we broke up and even though it was made "better" I mourn the loss of an excellent schnoz. Short isn't bad but tall is good. Thick hair long enough to play with but not quite long enough for a ponytail. Historically I like slim men but as I get older I've developed an appreciation for hunks. Regardless, I want some…

Imagine saying that someone exhibiting the kind of sexual dimorphism that indicates they can bear new life and then feed that life with their body is inappropriate to be around children

Yes- that's how it should be- but that's not how a lot of men do "pro choice". It's not viewing abortion as a license to do whatever.

Okay this might be unnecessary but I love my guy's approach on this issue. He is pro choice but he also holds a deep reverence for life and wouldn't want to cause an abortion to be needed. So he is impeccably committed to safe sex practices- he's the only man I've been with who literally never tries to push boundaries on that front. On the flip side, he has made it clear that while he would accept full responsibility for any child we might inadvertently conceive together (even if I didn't want t…

Condoms, condoms, condoms. Make the boys use a damn condom. It's your body. Teenage boys suck at sex anyway. You don't need to be out here risking your physical and emotional wellbeing for sex with clueless high schoolers who probably don't even know how to get you off. If they won't wear a condom when you ask they don't deserve access to your body. Personally I don't want to put any artificial hormones in my body, I try (to a radical degree) to limit my waste production, I have a partner who is…

This is beyond the scope of this sub but anyone know how moms can show their children unconditional love without raising men who don't respect women?

I think this is different because he got her number already, just lost it. So she'd indicated some reciprocal interest

Yeah I know gaming isn't generally considered HV but this is the HV version of being a gamer. This is someone being encouraging and helpful while their partner learns how to play a game. The LV behavior would be throwing her to the wolves and mocking her for being bad at something she's never done before

As somebody with a diagnosed personality disorder... yeah. When I am more in my syndrome I have less respect and sound more like a libfem

I love children, have been a teacher, and also feel as if I've learned a few things through being alive that I would feel honored to share with a younger human. Not super interested in biological reproduction, but definitely interested in parenting. I am interested in a romantic partner as a way to engage in shared growth. I am interested in a co-parenting partner because I believe that providing a child with more competent adult role models is better, all other things being equal. All of these …

I'm all right philosophically with birth control, I'm just sensitive to medication. I also had an unfortunate medical situation with an IUD and I'm allergic to spermicide- I am definitely an edge case wrt contraception lol

Thank you, I sometimes feel like the only woman who feels this way. I also just don't want to put many foreign substances in my body and am skeptical of a lot of the chemicals that go into making condoms (I also don't use tampons for this reason). I will concede that this makes causal sex next to impossible, because I'm not into having sex that's gonna put me at risk of contracting STDs. I'm also aware that I'm running a higher risk of pregnancy so need to be sure that anyone I'm taking to bed w…

I was supposed to go into the big city where the guy I am seeing lives for a dinner date, but a strange series of events meant I had to go to the ER instead. I texted to let him know that I wasn't going to be able to get to our date, and said that I would offer to feed him but I had nothing at my house. Then my phone died and I was stuck at the ER for five hours. When I got home my shelf was stocked with groceries - my roommate had let the guy in, and apparently he had waited for a few hours but…

Would this suggest that a guy who does eschew fast food, fast fashion, video games, and porn can justifiably not do Valentine's day (so long as he is truly being loving on other days)?
