And it was in the UK where they notoriously do not jail for drunk and disorderly conduct. The money it costs to keep some idiot who's being an idiot in jail is not worth it. It's only a story because it's a pretty white girl. But this happens often. I know a guy who ran from the cops, did 100+mph on the highway and then crashed his car into some family's backyard. Didn't go to jail and got 300hours of community service.
