Maybe this will help you ... I read a book, well half the book - its called the biology of desire by marc lewis. He explains that anyone can be addicted to anything and that addiction is the result of neural pathways. So basically circumstances/you create these pathways in your brain that help formulate these addictions - washing your hands over and over, gambling, drugs, drinking, sex, porn, staying up late, eating junk food - you name it. To me understanding this has helped me to understand th…

I assume your comment above is about the horniness question?... I don't see it at all like the previous poster suggested. I see it as her trying to get out of having sex. Meaning if your not 'that horney' and she isn't you guys don't need to 'fuck' as you put it. But if you are really horney she'll feel more obligated to. I don't think there is any power play here it's just she's stressed/xyz/yzx etc... And doesn't want to bang.

I've been thinking about your post... And am 'trying' something different with my life. Focusing on action or the journey rather then the destination. Or put everything into the journey and let God sort out the results. How's things going?

I see you read one of my fav books, as a man thinkth... But onto your post. I used too (and still do), think about all the things I don't like... But I am starting to ask Only... What am I going to do about it. And maybe there are things I need to do now I'd like to change or I really don't like. What helps me is make it serve you instead of you it. So you font like lifting, fine but it's good for you. Find a way to make it serve you. I'm sitting here at a job right now I don't like, and reading…

Thanks for all the replies, All of them are helpful. I came here looking for a 'simple' answer, an answer that would bring me happiness/understanding. The answer I got was not what I expected but gave me all the power/control. Now what am I going to do about it.

Thanks, 'it's' starting to make sense. I had a supposition I was sticking with, ie we love each other, we're married, I'm a good husband = wife should want to sleep with me. Because this was not happening the way I liked, I whined, 'gashed teerh', complained,... But still kept that supposition the same.

I read this post previously and just read it again now. In a way I started to implement this way of thinking just recently... 'Action is better then thinking about the results/outcome of my action'. And perhaps that's why I found myself here again because I havnt been taking action in my relationship.

Not the OP - I just got laid because of this comment and your other comments here. I got a problem (with my woman), least I thought this until reading the above. Not that the details matter but I'll post them for your amusement. Basically I'm not getting shown the attention I'd like, just enough but I'm sick of the 'just enough'. OYS - Its been over a year maybe 2 since my last oys. Me: 49, Wife 47, Son 7 I've meant to post since then but I felt my plan wasn't solid enough/my determination to follow this plan wasn't solid enough/I didn't have the right things to say ... My take is that she started to party there and meet some new dudes and was looking for permission and to relieve her guilt over wanting something different. Imo her saying she wants to do drugs and see the person at work... She's already doing and seeing. Sometimes it's like that. Sucks ya. But like the others have said, your 30, no kids - forget her and concentrate on you.

My son has special needs, not as bad as your son had. I'm not sure how I would be either if I lost my son. He is my Everything. Your son was a blessing in your life and he was lucky to have you as a father. I don't know you but if you choose to have another child you will be a blessing to them also. Life is precious, All life. Including yours right here and now. How best could you acknowledge the blessing that was your son? Think of All the wonderful things that made him who he is. I'm not a regular poster here, but did you read this forum before posting? It's filled with comments such as what you have been given. Not really sure what you were expecting... I connected with your story - reminded of me a bit as far as the woman goes. You asked the question wheather you should divorce. Only you can answer that. I read your original askmrp thread and it was locked before I could respond. I had a old gf that acted similarly. Did your gf/wife get spoiled when they were younger, often got away with stuff? Well ... life sucks for you ... But seriously - if a recent umbilical hernia was the worst thing you or I would encounter then life would be a cake walk. If it were me - Id take some time off lifting; all lifting, and eating crap food. Give it time - see if it heals on its own. If not you can get surgery. On a personal note - I had a umbilical hernia once - wasnt working out much (ok not at all). Was eating not the best. Luckily it resolved itself; but I had a feeling that eating garbage for 2 w…

Btw no amount of money is worth being a father to your child. Meaning them to have money and no you. I grew up without a father... Since we're talking about it suicide and part of the reason was ptsd. I being the son would have traded anything to have a father. Anything.

Good topic for discussion here. I can see how this has come up in my relationship. I can also see how I have been lacking when it comes to life. People dont change unless they feel like they have too. Either from outside circumstances or from inside ones. So your wife not kissing you more then just a peck or having sex as much as youd like. Ok sure she had trauma when she was young. But why should she face that trauma? Why should she change? Why should she do things she doesnt want to do or even want to see things differently then she does? I know where you are coming from but don't think it can't be worse... it can. I see some issues... Your wife's at home with the kid and your trying to work from home. Not a good combination even in better circumstances. You guys are around each other too much, you are isolated ie different country and little or no friends. And if not your next one will have a better chance. Forget all that negative talk about feeling bad and ashamed.

Every guy has had the same feelings in their life. Decide what you will and won't accept in a relationship and leave it at that. You cannot control your partner, but you can control how you interpret the world.

You could be like my wife and blame it all on me, not romantic enough, didn't ask for it the right way, asked the wrong time, not helping her in life enough, etc... That will get her hamster going cuz it did and has mine. Or you could have that honest talk and see where you end up. I think there's a bit too much antagonism there what's going on with you. So what's going on? Wife treating you like shit, not putting out and you doing your thing? So you got oneitis but are trying to train yourself to be outcome independent? I was thinking today that the 'things' mrp says to do is like game the books told you to do when picking up chicks. It never felt authentic to me and I just couldn't do it. Funny when it comes to procrastination/fortune telling. I was just writing out my oys for tomorrow and this is one of my issues. That's why there is 2 sides to every coin. In my relationship there are current challenges (opportunities), and I might feel 'things' are being done to me. Why would using a whiteboard for the purpose of spelling out my MAP not be in my best interest? 2 things... 1. The life isn't fair statement. If you look at life like this yes you may get the perception it is here to grind you to a pulp. life just is, what's not fair is your judgements of life and letting these judgements grind you to a pulp. What you do with life is what matters. When you are dealing with someone that is enraged, or even when things are getting heated ... You may feel you are doing the right things, you may appear to be doing the right things and you may be doing things t…

You remind me of me in a way. Although my wife works full time. And imo she thinks she can do better by herself or with someone else. And ya I deserve this to a degree. Shit hit the fan a month ago. It helped me to see my failings, not because I failed her, which I did. But I failed me. There are important questions that need to be asked, and answered. There is a life to take ownership over the problems and solutions. You know what I was... A just get by guy, a procrastinator, a guy that was afr…

I really liked that book also, extreme ownership or discipline = freedom. Really hit home for me. I was talking to someone today about it. It's a relief in a way to take ownership of something, because you don't have to blame someone else. It just is. You either accept it or do something about it. Also when you take ownership, your only option is yes to accept or move forward. There is no sherking responsibility off on something else. Its on you. Doesn't mean 'they' don't play a part but you are…

I think this is where alot of women find themselves. Or guys... They coast and don't work on themself and soon find that they do not add value to the relationship, and even perhaps devalue it.

Ya this makes sense, so him doing rp, or getting his act together really made her feel 'close' to her husband. While others, like myself, are dealing with a woman that have dug there heels in for years and are not going to move so easily.

I got to admit when I read this I was like WTF? Is this guy serious. How does a guy go from 20 years of a dead bedroom and I'm sure full of resentment/anger to happy go lucky Chad. In 3 months. Thanks for the reply, One question ... Do you think women or some women don't even realize that this is how they function? If you don't mind... I'm not the OP. When you said this sums up perfectly how a man will end up in a dead bedroom... What does? Being a pleaser? Great boyfriend? Loving and devoted? Or not the take charge type? Your next paragraph in which you say don't listen to your wife... Let me tell you what I would do but its not for the feint of heart. I'd take ownership of that shit, the infrequent sex, the fumbling initiating, the silent treatment between you two. This will probably lead you down the road why the sex isn't occurring... And take ownership of this too, and keep pushing until the only thing left is your soul and seeing how you failed as a man and seeing the path before you. Why can't you care if your wife cheated 35 years ago? Because the Internet said not too? Does it serve you too care? Did your wife address this issue or just blame it on you? Is it acceptable what has occurred? Those are all questions for you too answer, share or not.

Depends what you call 'things'. If you mean you... For me it's been a process, atm it mostly has to do with my mind/soul and what my paridgms are. I have work ahead of me also, but to be honest this work doesn't feel so much like work when you change whom you are at its core. I've been listening to this song lately, dust in the wind by kansas, the song makes me see how our lives are only a fraction of time in the grand scheme of things, but that fraction is so precious. Our insecurities, our fears melt away when you look at the universe in this way. Your dreams, this moment is what's beautiful. Weather you decide to jump out of an airplane or not is irrelevant. What does this life mean to you... Listen to that song and let those fears melt away. 😊

Your question... About setting your sights too high. The answer to your question is more questions: What are your limiting paridgms that make you ask the question in the first place. Who defines the limits of who you are. Who will be deluded when you become that which you seek, you or the world. And in a practical sense... Who do you want to be right now and when you die whom would you be proud of. The same old me or... That is on you.

As far as your covert contracts go or at least what you call them. I'm not sure I understand what the problem is with the rhings you mentioned. When I was writing my oys and I got to my actions, I felt the same way. They felt 'sublime', not good enough, not putting the fire to it. While my paradigm shifts are really interesting to me. Grats on starting your journey. A couple things I thought of when I read your oys. You have done what you have done in the past. It is what it is - now you are going to do something different. Sure you may have those feelings or regret/disappointment etc... Let it go. Lots of people start out hard and Rambo a bit. Observe how you input these principles. This is why they say mrp is rp on hard mode. As you are changing you have someone in your face testing the congruence of those changes.

I agree with alot of the posters here, her sister came and put a lot of thoughts into your wife's mind and or she got with Chad. Either way... You acting like a beat whelp doesn't help. I think people can be so ingrained with their thinking (me), and ingrained with what society says is right and just, or what should be... That changing this thought process becomes the monumental task (me) not changing the specific outcome. I see some of me reflected in the OP, and to be truthful I see myself in a few of the posters here. If my post is supposed to be one of understanding; the other posts a call to action.

I think it depends on what you want and what you can accept. I knew a guy once where his ltr cheated and he simple stated that - this isn't acceptable and it can never happen again in their relationship., and he will forgive it this once. And as far as I know things worked out for the couple. You decide what you want and what you can accept. Take emotion out of the situation (sure easier said then done) and go from there. Watched the vid... Brings back memories... Dave Foley talks about his wife having borderline disorder. I had a old gf that I dated for 8 years (we were going to get married). I could relate to everything Dave said.

Holy shit m *&sfah I just had surgery and your making me laugh almost making me bust my stitches. My wife rail's on me to when I drive. Deering doesn't work, she never feels she's wrong and I just get exhausted because it never ends. Stfu does a bit, but the jokes... Seems much more pleasant for me.

So I don't get it, mrp says someone games your wife and your not supposed to care and your supposed to just let it happen? Like you I studied game in the past so I can often see shit being pulled I feel like I have to do something or I get labeled "weak sauce" by myself and others.

There was a comment above about kids etc... My wife used to be a great cook too, well she still is but after the kid. I get cooked for only on special occasions and even then if I don't 'act' right she threatens to never cook again for me. (hmm as I write this I realize how much I deer when this occurs and how much I have been in her frame in our relationship and not mine.

I liked your comment about advantage of being married is there is a woman to shit test you to death until you master these concepts <<<really interesting if you think about it. And not just in relation to women but to other areas of life. Ie the advantage to life is it will shit test you to death until you master its concepts and then they are no longer shit tests.

Somethings I agree with the article some things I don't. The author and some posts here fail to mention that guys Need that release. Ya I used the word need. But I'm going to re-read the article because I do agree that it's my fault/responsibility of what I will do about it.

That's what I got from the story,... It's funny or not that my wife would respond in the same way.

I can tell you what I have tried that doesnt work :) Also I have some theories that go along with what I have heard others mention. I have tried: Having the 'talk' 3 times~; in a good way not in a 'demanding way' ... I think there has always been a negative consequence for having the talk; or nothing at all. Improving myself has helped things barely - one because Ive been focusing on me rather then whats wrong with the relationship and two my wife notices but to be honest things in the bedroom h…

I enjoyed your post I can see many similarities in my life and actions I've taken. As a couple others have posted I sometimes wonder if it has to do with age or hormones etc... And I wonder if there wouldn't be so much angst given other circumstances. Although I don't prescribe to the whole red pill mentality I'm curious that there may be a dynamic that I havnt realized.

thanks for your post ... Your right I have spent a fair amount of time reading the DB sub. I supposed I gravitated toward reading the DB sub because it was 'nice' to know I wasnt alone and sometimes hearing about people worse then myself. I'm not sure if my definition for oneitis is the same as what is thought of as typical. What keeps people together if it isnt a bit of oneitis? I wouldnt think of a relationship just a list of good things and bad and deciding on if its worth it everyday or if…

Makes sense; I cant tell you how many times Ive been in a fight with my wife thinking ... Ive done this this or that and yet she says I do nothing ... To be honest some of the stuff here I dont necessarily agree with but I read it because I want to keep my own sanity when my mind is going wtf.

" You are boring, she sees that you have oneitus for her and you believe you have no options " Not OP but this is me - for some reason my marriage 'fantasy' is that we would both have oneitis for each other and live happily ever after. I still dont get it in my 'mind' - ie either one shouldnt have these perceptions about a marriage because they dont work, or my wife does not have this perception and therefore it wont work with her, or as this whole sub is about its about being the guy that all…

Wierd thing is I think your right, it's not even the - must be fucking other woman thing - it's he could be fucking other women. Meaning other women notice him and he has options even if he is with one person. When I first met my wife she always mentioned how some other chick had come up to me to get to know me better and I just blew this other chick off.
