It's not that they won't let me in during school hours. It's more like I got there at a time when all the kids are leaving out the front door, which I have to bring the delivery in through. It's not easy bringing in a cart full of boxes through a crowd of a few hundred kids going the opposite direction. If I had gotten there like 10 minutes sooner, I wouldn't have had to wait.

I, and every guy I've worked with in IT, couldn't give two shits whether we worked with men or women, as long as they are competent, we don't care. There isn't much sexism (I won't say there's none because that would be wrong, there is certainly some), but women in general just don't want to go into STEM. They'd rather take useless shit like "Gender Studies" or "Social Justice", and that's why they make shitty money.

Yeah, except from my own personal experience, I see WAY more women being shitty drivers than men. I have a 30 minute commute every day, and I rarely ever see men distracted driving, but I see multiple women every day texting, doing makeup, etc. The data would reflect that women got more tickets IF they actually got the damn tickets. They get let off so often it's unbelievable.

It depends where you are or where you're willing to go. Also, if you're a woman or not white it helps your chances. I graduated college 4 years ago now, and still haven't found shit all in my area. I did move and work in another city (about a 5 hour drive from home) for a couple years, but I hated it.

In the article it very briefly mentions that they may be seeing less corrupt results because many of the employees are new, which makes perfect sense to me. When you're new at a job, you just take it easy and stick to the rules. After you become comfortable after 4-6 months, you do whatever. I'm sure that will happen here.

This exact thing happened to me recently too! Initially agreed, then when I tried to solidify plans, didn't answer the messages or dodged the subject. It was still worth a shot, though. Much better than thinking "what if".
