Thank you for typing this all out, it's so well explained. It's true that it isn't empowering or liberating, because if it was then all the powerful men would do it. And they definitely don't spend hours a week and loads of money on hair and make up and nails and high heels and handbags and clothes. 1	Suicidal thoughts You are amazing for every single second you've spent the past two years no longer living that life with him, even if you don't feel it right now. I'm in a similar situation, almost two years out of an abusive relationship which destroyed my life. I also still feel crazy intense shame and self hatred. 2	In Light of Recent Events, I'd Like to Give This Sub My Thanks Before it Goes Down. I'm a total lurker but I've gained so much from this sub. Having left an abusive relationship- I've used FDS as a framework for self confidence and establishing what I will and won't accept from relationships now and it's been so valuable to me.
