Actually laughed out loud. Underrated comment right here.

Three, I have managed. Five, no, but you just gave me a bucket-list item!

Hah, just realised that your comment much more neatly summarised my experience than my own comment did!

Had something very similar happen to me, albeit over a non-sexual thing. Long story short, I was a single dad for a while because my ex was (physically and emotionally) hurting our young daughters. I posted on Facebook asking if anyone would give me some tips on how to do hairstyles, as they both had long hair and it was something their mum used to do for them. One lovely lady came over and spent an hour with us, showed me some really useful stuff, but... Not only did I get mocked to hell and go…

Check out the term "kyriarchy": you may find it more useful.

Intersectional feminists have recently started to more broadly adopt the term "kyriarchy", which I think is much more useful. It stems from the recognition that - like what Atwood was trying to get at in The Handmaid's Tale - while life may be somewhat less oppressive for men than women at any given rung of the ladder (all else being equal) basically the only people who have it good are those at the top of it.

Yep, I'm here for it too... I mean, I'm sorely tempted to dive in - here and elsewhere - from time to time as I'm a) a contrarian bastard who loves a good debate and b) a total outlier in sooooo many ways that mean I don't fit any "pill profile", which would make it even more fun. And then I browse the threads and realise once more that contributing additional drama on relationship subs would be like flicking bread pellets into a black hole, so I mostly just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Not chiming in on the debate as such, but this logic is flawed. All snakes are reptiles, but not all reptiles are snakes. All incels may be misogynistic but it does not follow that all misogynists are incels. Words are important. I do agree that the definition of "incel" outside of the self-identified incel community is noticeably drifting, but - based on how I see the term used in many different subreddits, mainstream media and recebt academic literature - I would argue that "misogynist" and "i…

It's also extremely good advice. My first ever "cold approach" to a woman once I'd found this attitude was to someone working behind the counter at a bus station where I was buying a ticket. Damn, she was beautiful. We had a normal ticket-sale transaction plus a little banter, then I said (probably in a really rushed way) "I know you're working and it's probably a terrible time to ask but I doubt I'll come through here again so, before I go... I'd absolutely love to buy you dinner: would it be o…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
