It’s hilarious to be that you think gaming is so pathetic but missing the point that you being on here and whining on this subreddit of all places is not equally pathetic lmao. And China is a largely homogenous population so your example doesn’t really make sense to me. I’m on the side of equal opportunity not outcome when it comes to DEI but still believe it’s done more good than harm. It’s crazy that your argument seems to be that segregation is preferable, there’s psychopaths who exist amongs…

It’s not casual jokes, it dogpiling on women to such an extent and with such hostility that women no longer feel welcome in those gaming space. And men don’t have a monopoly on video games, those gaming companies that make them, make games for everyone not just men. It is not an unhinged comparison, we do have laws against discriminating on race, religion, sex etc. and I would argue our society is a better place for it. Curious on your thoughts on Ruby Bridges that first little black girl to go …

Okay I thought critically, and I am unhappy because there is an ant problem in my house. Wish I could go back to the good old days of my grandmother when there were no ants.

I imagine there could be a million different reasons so I don’t know. Why do you feel that question is relevant to this thread that’s disputing the fact that women needing antidepressants is related to them not being trad wives any more specifically. Do you personally believe that is the reason why women are no longer happy?

If you think it’s noteworthy to this thread, then you should be able to state why you think so instead of having others trying to guess whatever hypothesis is in your head.

Really curious on your thoughts on why we have laws and police to enforce them? Is that not a form of moderation in everyday life to make sure there’s civility in the society? If someone’s going around and punching people in the face, it’s not asking to be coddled to say “hey, I don’t want to be punched in the face.” Sexually harassing people is not a joke, I just don’t find it terribly funny. Idk if that’s the humor your parents taught you growing up but if so then we’ll never see eye to eye on…

Unmoderated gaming spaces are so obviously misogynistic, you can go to any woman’s twitch stream to verify that in an instant. As soon as men figure out it’s a woman playing, the go back to the kitchen and sexual harassment jokes start. I don’t even think the other men deny that the gaming community is heavily sexist. It’s not asking to be coddled to NOT be harassed. How delusional are you?

Did you have a point to make? Because it’s not clear to me what it is.

I’m not talking about the less than 1% of people in competitive gaming communities, I’m talking about normal everyday gaming communities. And you actually just reinforced my point btw. Moderation and oversight is required like that in competitive gaming communities to keep them from devolving into a misogynistic jungle.

Yes, this is the reason I avoid all gamer bro spaces like the plague. The unmoderated rampant misogyny is disgusting. I’ve found PPD does a great job of keeping things fair so shoutout to the mods for that. It’s also why I roll my eyes when people say feminism or things like HR and guardrails for sexual related issues at work do too much. You just have to look at places that have no such rules and expectations and see how easily they devolve into open game against the women there.

Ironic since historically, many mid-century housewives took pills, often referred to as "Mother's Little Helpers," to manage their anxiety and depression for probably going stir crazy stuck at home with no choice but to depend on their husbands for every aspect of their life. But we only use selective parts of history on this sub.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
