I feel this juxtaposition is for a reason. Women were only recently given the rights they have. Life before ~1990s, was largely patriarchal. There are still cracks in the concrete, mixed with the women who were raised before the real second wave of feminism who share many misogynistic (by nowadays standards) views. This juxtaposition is what I feel leads to the predicament you're explaining.

Oh, okay. The video is titled "Unusual THINGS in Japan 🤯 #shorts" and its creator is Japan ON. One of the unusual things listed is that you can rent a boyfriend in Japan. If you go to the comments, you can see a bunch of (presumably) women and girls joking about moving to Japan for that. I'm fine with this, I'm just thinking of the hypocrisy of the situation.
