A boss at a voluntary job is different then the government forcing a decision on you. Whether it is good or not doesn't matter, its a decision between spouses not the government. I think it is "better" to have the mother home for as long as possible, even at the cost of the father. Does that mean that I can force men to give over their leave to their wives? The power to do good is the same power used to do bad. Choice and freedom is the answer, whether you agree with the decisions made or not.

Parental leave is great, the question is who pays for it. The article states that the leave increased after the Gov made it nontransferable to the mother. Meaning use it or lose it, so of course, men are going to take it. I know many men, my self included, would transfer that to my wife so she could be at home longer. Would be interesting to see the transfer rate . Basically, the gov just took away the mans choice on how to use it and forced them too. not sure how that is a big improvement.

Conversation was done a long time ago. Again, if you can't keep your emotions in check, you will never convince anyone of your position. Especially when you make sure to let people know that you think they are terrible for mutilating their babies. Take a break. I'm at peace with my decision.

The difference between female and male is quite different. Making them a 1 to 1 comparison truly downplays the evil of female genital circumcision which from 10 minutes of reading sounds like Islam 101 on oppressing women into submission. You can't wash a 2 year olds forskin. That is when complications can arise. It is not recommended to pull back the skin until 4 years old. Many issues can arise in that time. I would rather have done when my boy can't remember then when he can. I understand your side as well, which is why it should be up to each parent to decide for there child.

Yah but it also doesn't make sense. When dealing with changing a culture, averages are all you have because they are the most accurate. Yes, teach people what is right and wrong, but pretending or ignoring difference for the sake of equality or equity is silly (to me). They should be tailored. Totally understand your point. I think it goes more into the difference between Men and Women. Each become objects in different ways, I was referring more to the specifics of sexual attraction. It comes from Averages. On average men and going to see women more as sexual objects than women to men. Not saying it shouldn't be applied evenly but just not as common.

Just because 70% of divorces are initiated by women doesn't mean 70% of divorces are the women's fault. That is silly.
