Sooooo, You have been in a relationship for four months and that qualifies as long term? You try to seduce "taken" women and see nothing wrong with that but object when they succumb? You clearly need to reassess your own behaviour and choice of social group. It obviously does not mesh well with your actual values. Cheating is pretty common, for both sexes. This is obviously unfortunate and generally inexcusable. But, at four months you really cannot expect much of a commitment from a date. It is…

More young, stupid and poorly educated about how one should treat others. Some of the behaviors that they felt were at least occasionally acceptible involved physical violence. Why they would think it is okay to hit an intimate when it is not okay to hit a stranger is incomprehensible. Violence by women, against men was much more widely accepted than the reverse as well, by both sexes. Both sexes justified this attitude with the rationalizations that men are stronger (and therefore won't be inju…

The media is made up of the public. What is to stop a new organization from publishing publicly available information? Additionally, there is precedent that barring the media from a trial can only be done in extreme circumstances and even then they are often allowed to leave remote cameras or microphones. The fact that a trial must be held in the public eye is intended to protect the accused from having an unfair or prejudiced trial. You are perfectly capable of looking up the trial history of a…

What about the sixth amendment?

I have to say, I am on the fence. The purist in me wants to treat crime as crime. But, at the same time, some crimes have a stigma that others do not, both for the accused and the accuser. And, sexual assault has a fuzzy grey area that is tricky to navigate both legally and socially. It does not help that many people refer to sexual assault and rape the same way. I have never been raped. However, I have been sexually assaulted several times. I was never injured in the process. I never risked a p…

How does that affect the question of whether it is legal and acceptable to treat the accused differently from those in other crimes? I think they are related but separate issues. It is definitely a precedent for different proceeding when dealing with acusations of rape rather than other forms of assault. I, personally, would not treat the accusers differently, unless they were underage. And, it is certainly worth exploring the question of why they are treated differently, if doing so made sense …

BTW "apart" and "a part" are almost opposites in this context.

It also precipitates the question: is it legal and acceptable to treat rape accusations differently than other accusations of assault. After all, if Joe Blow stood accused of stabbing someone, would you be worried that his identity should be kept secret until after the trial?

I mean, I have heard of it as an urban myth but not as something that actually happened. But, then again, the people that I know are not the sort that I can imagine doing such a weird thing. It isn't hard to find someone to knock you up the normal way, if you really want to be pregnant. ;P

I have never heard of this happening in real life. I have never met a child conceived this way. I think this is a lot like the razors in the Halloween candy.

Yes, I doubt he would be convinced by anything. But, for every one of him there are several more in agreement. I wrote for them. :)

Sorry, why are testicles good and vaginas bad? Why do you think that men have innate authority? Really, you can't expect anyone to respect you if you think that your sex makes you respect-worthy. Perhaps women do not listen to your factual, well-thought-out, carefully considered arguments because you clearly have contempt for femininity. Just a thought. Broad, sweeping generalizations about a large and varied group of people are invariably unhelpful. Be less defensive and more constructive. Inst…

It is becoming less common in the US. I think people are less comfortable having pieces of their children removed for no reason.

I have always wondered this. It would make sense to have both parents itemize expenditures and to have them split the cost. Child support is based on the income of the father and not the cost of raising the child. Lower-income fathers do not cover half of the costs and higher income fathers are over paying. *Rent for a larger apartment *Groceries, diapers, formula, etc *Clothes and shoes *School supplies *Medical care and medicines *Extra curricular activities *Toys *Furniture It is not that har…

Boys do equally well in schools when that school has at least two recess periods of at least fifteen minutes each. But, you can make sure they get out of their chairs at least once per hour by restructuring lessons so that they walk around or get their own materials. Or just have them get up and stretch between topics. You will see a lot more focus. Girls are better at sitting quietly. They are less disruptive and when they are bored they tend not to "act out" as loudly or obnoxiously. It's not …

If you spend time worrying about getting burned instead of making a connection you will only find the sort of people that accept that sort of behaviour. There are assholes and decent people in every gender/sex. Life entails a certain amount of risk. It is up to you to decide how much risk you are willing to take on for the potential rewards.
