The English universities were run by the church for a very long time, they were incredibly exclusionary (on grounds of religion, class, race and gender). At the same time we had monarchy in stead of democracy and other absurd practices. Education isn't tied exclusively to them. Unless I misinterpreted you, you were perpetuating the myth that women were barred from education and science. This plainly wan't the case. That was much more a class issue. You point out some fair examples, but history is literally littered with similar examples happening to men. It's still happening to this day. 8	I'm pro choice, but this is the best pro life argument I've ever seen. Women get adoption and safe haven laws on top of abortion. An egalitarian system would afford men the same right to opt out of parenthood.
