2	Male Privilege You are correct. WWII had us drafting entire companies to make weapons, instituted rationing, internment camps, all kinds of crazy stuff. I wasn't around then, but I was during Vietnam, and that was a whole other kind of draft. Auto and aviation companies didn't quit making civilian cars and helicopters, and women weren't being hired so the menfolk could go off and fight. 1	Male Privilege Based on your reply, I would assume you'd leave the country, (as many did), to avoid the draft, and/or prison. There are many distasteful, dangerous jobs that we don't have to draft people to do. Currently, military service is one of them. We don't need a draft, because the compensation is enough to attract enough to serve willingly. This was not the case during the 60's.	/r/MensRights	05/03/14 04:12 PM
2	Male Privilege Seems the "draft" is a popular topic here. What the draft was, is, and always will be is a way to get young men, (or women), to work for lower compensation than what people are willing to work for. You offer enough pay, or other incentive, (such as the US actually being invaded), you need no draft. Want to save even more money? Draft everything required to wage war, people, equipment, all of it... (then see how many wars we'd be in, without anyone making a profit).	/r/MensRights	05/03/14 03:31 PM
