It served well to hide for many years out of the sake of appearing stable and respectable to others. Now it's my story. This story landed me an outstanding job which will fund many adventures for myself. Thats called living a fulfilled life. I removed my obstacles. Regardless, it's cool man. My friends became my family this year. I think you presume much in your statements, I gave a piece of the whole ... but all good man. Happy New Year!

I cut out nearly everyone in my family. My father. My aunt. My step mom. All of them responsible for how I felt as a child. Now it's my responsibility. They weren't on my side when it mattered. I gave each of them the opportunity to take responsibility, and they deflected. It was really painful to see how weak-willed my dad was being, ultimately rationalizing the behaviors. He could have been strong by admitting his failures. And it would have been that. Instead, I said my healing is most import…

This is an honest question that I'm still trying to figure out for myself ... not the beta vs alpha one, but how does one become respectable? How does one become likable? This might be a bit much, but I hope it helps at least somewhat. In short, do something that makes you view life in ways you can't yet imagine. Some people call it "find your passion." It doesn't really work like that. You don't go out in the world to find "passion;" however, you can try new things, alone. You can gain knowledg…

Spot on. I learned of my insecurities last year. I went through life believing the thing I lacked was a girl. After a painful experience, I learned that I sought a 'missing piece' to fix what was lacking within. I've grown only because I chose to dive into those wounds.

Whatever the case may be, she did not feel comfortable around me. The same story mentioned above turned into the reason I got my latest job offer. I had worked for the guy many years ago. 15 minutes of the interview was about the job. 1 hour, 45 minutes of if was about, "what got you out of your shell?" He had noticed my hiking photos and adventures. I had mentioned to my soon-to-be boss that all of my hiking this year was due to unrequited love. He saw that I broke out of my shell ... everythin…

She's seeing someone, as am I. I think she's happy for me. I'm hoping this story sheds some light for those that believe they need to find someone to heal their deepest wounds. The best thing I could have done is what I've done this year.

She's well. We're both growing. She lives in a different state, far away from here. She's a nurse, making it through her own trials in the last year or so; nursing school is no joke, and she pushed through. We each have our own stories to tell, which is the best part of all of this.

Definitely a true ending. As for what happened after, I went out in the world and discovered the kind of life I want to have. I believed I needed to convince others I was worthy, ultimately manipulating their view in the process. This was the point where I began to understand, "I can do these amazing things on my own. I can create these awesome memories for myself." The right people find their way into your life at the right time. There will always be a soft spot for the girl in the story, and I…

I fell head over heels for a woman last year in one-night. It was one of those situations where I didn't think anything would happen. Quite frankly, I didn't know what love was. Ultimately, sex came up. My lack of experience became known. She couldn't believe my lack of experience and provided a startled look. My monstrous inner-critic appeared; I interpreted her look of discomfort as contempt towards me. I froze up to hide the pain. Little realization. I rejected myself. I had access to my woun…

I agree that rejection is an opportunity to find our own weakpoints ... romance in-general is where we tend to be most vulnerable, and we learn of blindspots in our behaviors and outlook on life; trust me I know. But the example from OP ... she's a 1, if not 0, in my book. Shitty behavior negates looks all day, erry' day. Also, her response, if real, says more about her than any dude that shows interest.

Same here, dude. It takes me awhile to find out if I like a girl. I think I've conflated liking with being attracted to, which is something to work on. That being said, when I began doing things for myself, I stopped worrying about attracting girls. Adventuring, hiking, etc ... gives me something to clear my head with. Same boat as you, ended up in a similar situation to where I was last year. I made a move physically on a girl that was technically within my circle ... she's going through a …

I mean, you're not alone bro. I try to get validation out of women in-general, and it stems from a fear of abandonment. My stepmom left me at a daycare when I was 5 years old, and I never saw nor heard from her again. Regardless, I wasn't aware of that until I became aware of it. And now that I am aware, I know I'm better than my issues. I love adventuring. I braved them Maine black flies and completed a strenuous hike at Mount Katahdin. I trekked across Knife Edge, over 5,000 feat above sea-lev…

You sound like me last year, man. I get it. Some self-awareness here is needed. From this post, I know nothing about you, save that you have a lot of shame over who you are. No woman can provide you validation there. Only you can provide validation for yourself. EDIT: What kinds of things do you enjoy? What are some of your hobbies?

Thank you for this post. The stories we tell ourselves and others define us. This goes beyond seduction. This goes for all things in life. Seriously, find out what you are and be that.

This hits home. Indeed. I got a lesson out of my experience. People should know their own worth.

Yes, it certainly enables external validation, but that's not merely its only function. We have the ability to procreate with sex, but that's not the reason why we enjoy it. Sometimes, sharing ourselves with others opens us up to a world of possibilities otherwise unknown. I share on my adventures via the Grams. And I get a solid 20 - 40 likes on most of my pictures. Is that why I do it? No. I hiked a damned mountain for 13 1/2 hours ... I discovered that I can break past my fears and challenge …

Good to know. I've also found that sharing 'yourself', rather than mere photos, is a good way to spark interest. For instance, I've been hiking all over my state. I've got stories within my photos. I've had countless people reach out, male and female. :) CAVEAT: This was never with the intent for seducing folks. This is simply an outlet for sharing who I am.

This story is inspiring, and it really gets me motivated to get out there. I also have social anxiety, and I am afraid of putting myself out there. You are the man!.

Many folks are afraid of putting themselves out there, and thus they complicate things. Analyzing vs taking action. Count me among the former crowd, but I'm working with a psychologist to make a push towards taking action in life. In many spheres, I feel I have. I'd go further and say that many folks believe they're not worthy even prior too putting themselves out there. The idea of experiencing rejection they feel would be damaging to them. I feel r/seduction provides tips for those that alread…

I think the name of the game is be what you're attracted to. Self-improvement is too abstract at times. You find something that drives you, then be that. If you're attracted to adventure and the mindset(s) involved, then take that on and be that. Yes, it's more complex than that. After hiking 100 miles last month, along with completing my first spelunking adventure, I discovered three things about myself. First, I discovered I had a fear of being alone. After, I then chose that being alone can b…

I should really work on ensuring I give location in my posts / stories haha. Sorry about that. I'm from Pennsylvania. The Poconos are a range of mountains within the state.

You go bro! Exactly. This was the one of my better tests to work through. I ended up discovering a gold mine. I became exactly what I was attracted to. It's empowering. We discover it's not merely about attracting others. It's about being what we desire in the world. Yes, get rejected! At some point, we realize that we end up rejecting others that don't fit what we want. We, in turn, become selective ourselves.

Agreed! I made that mistake myself. We need more rejections in life haha. We need to put ourselves out there and find what we want out of life. It's the best way to find yourself.

I don't know if this is fair, but I'll have fun with it. Men invest in themselves. They're vulnerable. They live life honestly. Esteem of themselves is of the utmost importance. The approval of others is not their primary concern. Boys spend their time trying to convince others that they're men.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
