You make a good point with your 80% statistic. An important one was missed though: Learn basic social skills (like conversation skills, eye contact, genuine smiling, etc.) Without social skills looks and confidence will not get you far.

Unique learning method! What was your next step? How did you transfer from internet/at home practice to real life?

Genuine eye contact. It enables you to give and get non-verbal clues. People will see you are genuine and care about what they have to say. Eye contact will enable easier cold approaches, you'll be able to tell if the other person wants to be approached. For an effective guide on learning eye contact go here. Hope this helps

First step: learn how to master eye contact. Girls notice when a guy makes genuine eye contact with them. Plus it's a great way to gauge their interest in you. Check out this guide to get you started. Do this and you'll stand out to girls. And it will build your confidence- this is the largest benefit of them all!

Best advice: EYE CONTACT Learn to master eye contact and you'll be 5 steps ahead of every other guy. Eye contact is the first non-verbal signal that girls notice. You need to let them notice you by making eye-to-eye contact. I used to have a similar problem and eye contact made the largest improvement. I actually wrote about it here and how you can master it. Fellow engineering student here- don't let that stop you from connecting with girls... They love engineers.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
