If a girl is uncomfortable being hit on by someone just because that someone is alone, then she's probably insecure and judgmental and you don't want to hook up with her anyway. Any of these seem to work for me: "I just needed a drink/needed to get out of the house/felt like being around other people." Because if you're out alone that's probably why you're out anyway.

It fails to mention the balance that needs to be struck between not giving a fuck and human curiosity. The goal should be to make people care about you, while you remain indifferent whether or not they care about you. Being seductive is about winning respect and to do that you do have to have some empathy, you have to be curious about what people are feeling and why they feel that way. Background to frame the question: met a girl at the bar a few weeks ago, we hit it off, talked for a while, at the end of the night I got her #.
