Of course, some laypeople can be quite confused about these things and have weird takes. Intersectionality acknowledges that privilege isn't a one-dimensional thing. People can be privileged and oppressed in many different ways. For example, one's culture putting social pressure on women to submit to their husbands is a benefit for men.
