A lot of men can start with less effort and much more basic improvements than lifting. Clothing and presentation is something many people leave a lot to be desired. I've found it helps to just separate from as much of the negativity as possible. Negative people drag you down and affect your mindset constantly, they're not worth keeping around. I don't talk to nearly as many people as I used to but I'm a lot happier overall. Easier said than done if they're your family, but still not too hard if you live on your own
