Absolutely disgusting. Rape is rape, the respective genders of the rapist/victim are irrelevant.

Whoa. Didn't read the original. Not would be rapist, I mean rapist.

People who tried to defend the would be rapist are disgusting. Anybody can be raped. It does not make a difference if you are male, female or intersex.

Only rape by a stranger? I disagree. What about a rapist who rapes a partner? What about a rapist who rapes members of their family? What about date rape?

This is why I stopped reading many feminist blogs. This article is ridiculous. The author is celebrating the diversity of these models and the fashion industry? Yea, there is a TON of diversity, all different types of very thin, very tall, very young white women with child like features. All while chastising men for looking at women in "men's magazine". Meanwhile Esquire magazine voted Christina Hendricks (a full figured, healthy looking, stunningly beautiful woman) as the world's most beautiful…

On behalf of rational women, I would like to apologize for the idiocy you have been subject to. I personally don't believe in gender roles. I believe a man can be an awesome, caring, patient caregiver to a child. I am a woman and I have the maternal instinct of a brick, I am sick of people automatically expecting me to be great with children because I am female. This of course does not compare to what men go through, but it does illustrate that making assumptions based ONLY on a person's gender …

I don't understand how it is not. In many "traditional" marriages the man pays basically to keep the woman as a live in house keeper/baby making machine, and the woman does stupid things like use sex as a weapon. Its unhealthy for the both of them.

This is great advice, the world is far too overpopulated, and traditional marriage is nothing but ritualized prostitution. -a woman

Glen Sacks really does not like women. Yes, there are some women out there who are totally horrible human beings, just like there are some men out there who are also horrible human beings, I really do not understand why every time one woman does something shitty, he jumps on his soapbox and rants that LOOK AT WHAT THIS WOMAN DID ALL WOMEN ARE HORRIBLE SEE I WAS RIGHT OMG!!!!11!!!1oneoneone

I'm sorry, but emotional abuse is emotional abuse regardless of one's genitals. To say that women are not capable of emotionally abusing their partners is to say that they are different from men, they are not. They are just as good and just as bad. Oh, but what do I know, I am just a stupid feminist who believes in equality.

What the hell is wrong with straight people? Seriously. My boyfriend (also bi) and I sit there and wonder about this all the time. Many straight women walk around like entitled princesses expecting some guy to finance her way through whatever they want, never bothering to develop any sort of personality or interest, surrounding herself with superficial friends who judge her by what clothes she wears and how thin she is. She is weak, petty, and over dramatic. She uses sex as a weapon and treats m…

I never treat men like ATMs, in fact, unless it is a super duper special occasion, I will not let my boyfriend pay for my half of a meal (birthdays and such he takes me out, but I take him out for his birthday)

What a load of shit. I am a woman, I have had relationships with both women and men, while I am willing to admit that assholes come in both genders, I will also say the only times I have been threatened with violence, or had violence inflicted on me, it has been in a relationship with a straight male.

This guy is the biggest whiner I have seen posting things on the intertubes. Yes, some women do some fucked up things, some men also do fucked up things...WHY????? Because sometimes people do fucked up things. This isn't a "feminine" or "masculine" thing, its a "holy shit that person is fucked up" thing.

I am saying that I admire my dad for not listening to what other people told him to do, and that people who do listen to what people have to say need to grow a backbone.

It would be his fault for letting other people run HIS life.

If he listens to other people and their stupid opinions, then he would have built the cage for himself.

I think its a societal thing, and the stigma really only affects a person in so much as they let it affect them. My dad was mocked relentlessly by his peers (other men, mostly), he just shrugged his shoulders and got on with his life. This is how you break a stigma, stand up and say "So what if people think X,Y or Z. It is my life." Otherwise you are living in a self imposed cage.

Oh I agree it is a stigma! There is a horrible stigma against men who stay home, there shouldn't be.

Of their own creation. My father chose to stay home with me (a logical choice given my mother was making significantly more at the time), we had an absolute blast together and I received the most wonderful gift a daughter could receive, I was able to spend time with and get to know my father. He cooked, cleaned and took care of my sister and I, while my mother worked. Many men would never do this as they would perceive it as a "threat to their manliness". A few couples I know ever had the woman …
