Based on that last comment, I now hypothesize that there is a big dam the blocks the flow of "disgustingness", and that though the flow is the same, the sober dam in men is less efficient at keeping this "disgusting" flow from flowing than the sober dam in women, but since drunkeness removes the dam either way, you see a greater increase of disgusting in women than in men. For me it would be more because I could spend more time discussing higher level concepts and have more control over my classroom than in lower levels, where I would have to teach more basic stuff, nurture, and wouldn't be able to be as strict. Well, if getting more equal gender representation in STEM is the goal, then for the long-term, having more female STEM profs is not a bad thing. having fem profs tells guys that get in hiring positions (if they didn't already think) that women are capable in STEM, and it encourages the girls in STEM programs who apparently are discouraged from too few female role models.

Well, that's the thing, one problem with feminism is that it has 3 definitions from 3 movements, but all have the same name. There's the women's suffrage feminists, the 2nd wave women's employment feminists of the 60s, now there's the 3rd wave women's power feminists of the early 21st. Though, some of leaders of this modern movement were in the 2nd wave as well, but that was almost a completely different goal.

because private schools are too small to allow for that. My school doesn't have nearly enough rooms to have separate male and female versions of each class, which would probably increase the number of periods regular class (i.e. not honors) teachers have to teach. Yes, the honors classes would be able to survive, but there's not enough room for all those regular classes.

exactly. not everyone was concerned with the baby's right to choose its own gender (David Reimer anyone?). some were just butt hurt that the baby was male. And, I'm sorry, but at that point in time, the parents speak for the child, if they say he is a boy, he is a boy. He can choose later. and when did "boy" start becoming an offensive term anyway? No one ever says "its a baby man" or "its a baby male", that just sounds cold and distant.
