Yeah, keeping the standards high with minimal cultural adjustments is important, and most FDS principles work fine for me as they are. If you want to continue this discussion, feel free to message me!

I too find that interesting. However, in my culture first dates are almost never dinner dates unless you already know the guy well, and even then it doesn’t really happen. From my point of view dinner in a restaurant as a first date with someone you don’t know well sounds even a bit unreasonable, since I’ve never even heard of anyone that has done it in my country - and I’m an academic woman in my early thirties.

Scandinavian here. I’ve noticed that the FDS principles have developed around american dating culture, and some of them need adjusting to be applicable to other cultural enviroments. The walking dates, drinks or coffee dates are one example. I find them acceptable in my culture, as dinner dates are something that is usually done only in relationships, so that’s one of the things I’ve adjusted to scandinavian culture. But then again, even though it is rare for men to pay even for coffee dates, I …

I’m not sure pouty is the right word. I know I would become disgusted if my partner started fucking another man in the ass, and I sure as hell wouldn’t want his dick in my vagina anytime soon.

Also going on about months of planning that went to a trip to the reptile museum. Like are the directions to that place hidden in some bizarre pirate map, or is the reptile museum located between the Mountains of Doom and the Swamp of Horror? No? How come it took months to plan then?

A male friend and I once went to see an Adam Sandler -film at a movie theatre. His choice. After 15 minutes or so I just couldn’t watch that garbage excuse of a human being for a second longer and walked out.

Yeah, this applies to all communication, but unfortunately sex and sexual assaults are the situations in which 'she didn't say no' is often used as victim-blaming. But also in other situations it is of course good to be aware that men who pretend they didn't understand are doing just that - pretending.

”She keeps insisting on me HELPING her cook and clean around OUR apartment.” Full mask off. I fucking hate it when men think like that, and unfortunately many of them do. By the way, I’m a full time PhD student employed by my home university, and it really is a demanding job, much more so than calculus in community college. Also I’m close with the research assistant of my group, and that is also a demanding job which requires following strict schedules. It sounds like she has no other funding fo…

There’s just something very visceral about the slug story that kinda sticks with you, it’s like the ultimate body horror. I too have felt nauseous every time I think of it, and it’s kinda hard to forget. I kinda wish I never read about it.

” Arguing for the sake of it and always playing the devil's advocate which upset my girlfriend quite a bit as I started to learn. Despite having so much love for her we were world's apart in some ways and our headstrong'ness meant we butt heads quite a bit.” He confesses to arguing for the sake of it but it’s still ”our headstrongness”, not ”his”. ”If I could summarise our differences I would say she was commited to the black and white of things where I was always concerned with the grey” Yeah, …
