Circumcision of females only most commonly removes the hood but leaves the clitoris mostly intact just like male genital mutilation. The main reason is that when the baby is born, there is no real proof who the father is. That man could be the father, or a friend, or walked into the wrong room or the woman could have cheated and is having someone else's child. Without a DNA test it's impossible to be sure. So the "father" will be involved but the signature they want is the mother's. Like any injury it heals a little better the younger you are. But adults can take pain medications and care for their own wounds. Nothing in a diaper is going to feel good on an open wound. The clitoris is only removed in some instances. Often only the hood or "female foreskin" is removed. But it's banned too. Even the slightest cut on a female baby's genitals is illegal. It's gone down slightly now that people have access to the internet and are becoming more intelligent on their own. But before Google existed you just did what the doctor said, and doctors like making money off of mutilating babies. Babies can't fight back and they can't sue since you only have 7 years in most states and 7 year olds don't know what circumcision is or why it's bad. Also it depends on race.
