Typically when a bathroom is locked, you can ask for what's called a "key". This so called "key" is typically a small metal device that allows you to unlock a door, for instance. By unlocking the door, you're able to gain access to the area behind the locked door. Specifically, in your case, it would have allowed you to use the bathroom. Have you never used a public bathroom before? I don't understand your confusion.

Something like 24 states have trigger laws that will ban abortion. So no, the "vast majority" won't be able to get one. Secondly, no state has had a vote to ban abortion. This is lawmakers putting their religious beliefs into law. Decidedly not how our democracy is supposed to work.
