It gives people certain rights and protections. There have been several shootings and even some mass killings with legally armed guns in the UK. JK Fail.I think you're overstating this case a little. Most of the current outrage is about single sex toilets/changing rooms/refuges. I can't remember the last time I saw a woman in the mens locker room at the gym.
