Dude it's just an example. Part of what makes misinterpretation so hard is that you can't really have any "textbook jokes" saved in the back of your mind because it's all based on what the girl says. Sure, my example isn't going to work all the time but funnily enough that's why I say that misinterpretation is hard to master since you can't rely on jokes you've memorised. Misinterpretation is a good flirting / teasing method and OP will be better with women if he gets good at it.

I'm in a similar boat my dude, negging / teasing girls has never been a strong point for me but I've been slowly getting better at it recently. My tip is to have a few "textbook negs" in your memory that you can use. Example: you're chatting to a white girl at a venue where there's alcohol. Ask her what she's drinking, and whatever she replies you just say "omg you're such a white girl that's like the whitest white girl drink you could have possibly chosen". Boom, neg achieved "Ok but what if sh…

Before I start I should say I'm a fair bit younger than you so I'm sorry if anything I say is obvious or condescending. One of the biggest things I learned about escalation is to greet her with a hug followed by a compliment (usually her style because it's more observant), something like that helps to establish a "date" atmosphere rather than being platonic from the get go. The other thing is leading her. I don't know what your usual date consists of but you always want to be the one leading her…

That makes sense, maybe something along the lines of "hey it's just a bit of fun I'm not interested in you like that" would have helped, especially since she's the one implying a pickup scenario with "you're too cliché for me" What do you think?

That's fair, but I don't think you would call someone a cliché if you were rejecting them, if it was something harsher then yea I'd aggree with you. There is more detail to the interaction that I haven't included because it doesn't really add anything meaningful to the post. Basically I pretended to be offended at being called cliché but that's just qualifying yourself to a girl and that's when I got rejected IMO. She had her eyes on me for a little bit and we made eye contact more than once, I …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
