It could but it is more likely to make you'd defensive since it is something that you cannot hope to change, that was inflicted upon you by people you love and that you believe loved you. The pressure to believe that circumcision is a net positive would be overwhelming; the alternative would be to admit that you've been left with a mangled mess of a penis due to something that was done to you by people that were supposed to have protected you. 1	My thoughts on Male circumcision. There has to be some kind of permanent damage. Fine it's not mutilation if you prick the clitoris, just torturing an infant for no reason. Is that more acceptable to you? What do those studies have to do with circumcising infants in America? Because the benefits still apply and the risks are much greater the longer you wait. 0	My thoughts on Male circumcision. As a circumcised man, particularly one with a circumcision that left you with more sequels than the standard amount of scarring, discoloration and loss of tissue? 1	My thoughts on Male circumcision. You compared circumcision to genital mutilation. Parents can circumcise their boy for whatever reason, even if it's just ceremonial/cosmetic, yet doing something less severe to a girl is always considered abuse. 0	My thoughts on Male circumcision. Circumcision does not prevent any disease. You don't say. Numerous studies from all around the world have shown repeatedly that circumcision reduces the risk of many STDs and forms of cancer in men and women. What are the medical benefits behind not being circumcisized? Instead of assuming on the child's behalf for a decision that may be postponed, why not wait for their choice at the age of consent? They justify not putting their children through a medical procedure with tangible benefits because of what they believe.
