It's very rare that you get a suicide note that is so incredibly cogent. He could see himself slipping into the dark side and becoming one of the demons that haunted him. The one thing I didn't get was that he didn't want to name-names even though there was someone very specific that was a catalyst for his descent. Even in the end, even though he was performing the ultimate purge, he was still keeping secrets.

In a related story, I've saved Bill Zeller's suicide note on my web site... another one that people have been trying to make disappear for a long time. These stories are extremely important to preserve... If you really want to read what I think is one of the most intense suicide notes ever written, check out the link above.

I've twice had women pull the "rape threat" on me. One woman had a child and told her new boyfriend I was mean to the child and he came over trying to kick my ass. I'd never even seen the kid.

Add /r/Freethought to that list. We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to inappropriately posting private information.

It's an imperfect world, filled with imperfect people, imperfect solutions are often implemented. In a perfect world, everyone would be open-minded and reasonable. Nobody should have to resort to violence or banishment to deal with problem people. Unfortunately we don't live in that world. Sometimes positive change comes as a result of eliminating something else which seems to do much more harm than good.

SA has always had some PC stuff.. for example, there was always some kind of "awesome military megathread.." that nobody was allowed to question whether or not using SA to recruit was ethical. They also had that attitude that questioning anyone's religious beliefs was grounds for being banned.

There's an eerie similarity between SRS and SA, no doubt. It's like a beauty contest run by zombies. This may be one of the bad examples of what cyberspace has wrought: the ability for insecure people to band together into one larger, "death star" of passive-aggressive self loathing that can be projected like a WMD.

It must be killing you that you can't ban us in this forum isn't it?

Which reminds me. I want to thank the SA mods for probating me so many times for having the audacity question their stupid-ass status quo that I finally left and went elsewhere, eventually ending up cultivating a much more mature community on Reddit. I now look back at SA and realize how pathetic I was as I was slowly being trained to "be nice" and get in line. Fuck 'em.

Riiiight.. and Fox News is "Fair and Balanced." It says that right on the logo.

And anyone who joins their group and expresses any dissatisfaction over their heavy-handed policies gets insta-banned. When they sent a downvote brigade after something on my sub, I posted an inquiry in their sub and rather than engage in dialogue I was instantly banned, so I thought, two can play that game. In the course of this, it was discovered that there are a number of well-known internet pundits who subscribe to that hate-filled-so-called-"anti-hate" group including that dingbat Rebecca W…

When SRS started fucking with my subreddit I banned 'em. I caught some heat for it but I'm glad I did that. I wish every other mod would outright ban any other group who's sole purpose is to act as a downvote brigade and silence certain opinions as an alternative to debate.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
