If you swapped their roles, and Lorena had been the abuser, he'd be imprisoned for a long time at the very least. 1	Enabling women committing pedophilia Unfortunately plenty of men and women don't see it that way :( And in regards to the men, the reality is that a large number of them have probably been victims of this (or similar) themselves. Personally, I think the reason it's been posted here is because it further perpetuates a large issue in society - the empathy gap between men and women. There is no doubt this woman was mentally ill, but had it been a male perpetrator it's extremely unlikely that he would garner the same sort of sympathy for such a heinous crime. I'm glad your wife is ok, that sounds like a horrible experience. I have known about Postpartum Depression for a long time as it's often brought up in cases of female perpetrated infanticide.
